Dante
Government shut down several times in the 80s. Biggest economic boon in history. Go figure
Chef Jim
Oh it totally would be the GOPs fault. After trying to get rid of Obamacare in the 2012 election...Fail Then on the forty odd legislative attempts to get rid of it...Fail In the Supreme Court...fail Now they will shut down the government to deny poor people health care. Sick! Totally??
KD in CA
And we're not going to pay our soldiers? Interesting claim coming from a group of people who thinks leaving them to get ambushed and murdered in Benghazi is just a phony scandal. In his defense, those people were all paid on time. 3rdnlng
More importantly, who's not going to be there to suck up all the fumes that will now surely be released to the atmosphere and melting all the glaciers, thus killing off the polar bears? IDBillzFan
In his defense, those people were all paid on time. Unlike the soldiers who were killed in Fort Hood, or the family members who can't collect death benefits because the dolts so afraid of not paying soldiers have no problem taking an admitted terrorist who murdered a dozen soldiers while yelling 'allahu akbar' and calling it "workplace violence," as if the guy threw a plate at an incompetent busboy. Heaven forbid they opt to pay THOSE soldiers and their families by admitting it was terrorism. Yeah, gatorman...tell us again how much you progressives really care about the soldiers. Keukasmallies
Given the catatonic state of the national government at present, if the government were to "shut down," someone would have to post a sign so we'd know the difference!

DC Tom
What the hell is a Government? A jobs program for people with no marketable skills but the fervent belief that the world implodes without their guidance.
Dante
A jobs program for people with no marketable skills but the fervent belief that the world implodes without their guidance. Exactly! These people aren't close to being productive. What they are good at is being manipulative. Great at distortion and spin doctoring. Are they of any value to society? Not that I can see. Maybe they would be good for working for the CIA destabilizing foreign governments we don't like but that's about it. Problem is that would take a certain degree of balls which I don't think exists in the political field.
