major Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Vegas still has us only winning 3 games next year. Therefore, should we tank it to get clowney? They say he's the next Bruce smith. Seriously, I don't want to tank the season but clowney is going to be awesome this year and in the nfl in years to come

coseybedaman Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Of course no team is ever going to do this, but if we were going to do it then it should have been last season for Andrew Luck. Not a defensive end. There isnt a defensive end that has ever played the game that would make us a winning team like Luck immediately did for Indianapolis.

Seriously, I don't want to tank the season but clowney is going to be awesome this year and in the nfl in years to come For a DE, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A QB should be the only time this happens like when a guy like Luck comes around ( I think the colts did this although it will never be proven) and hopefully we have now, but I think we should draft some next just to make sure, like Casey Pachall, Jeff Driskel or Blake Bortles who are all big armed, big body and good runners who fit the mold of what Marrone wants.

eball Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 First of all, no, Vegas doesn't. And secondly, the concept of "tanking" games is a disservice to every professional on the roster who, for all intents and purposes, could be playing in his final season.

But hey, we have Jerry Hughes.

If we has tanked LAST season for Luck, that would have shown a serious lack of judgement since he was already in the league at that point, playing for the team that employed that approach the season before. It would be a disservice to the sport. Never a fan of losing, especially on purpose.
nucci Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Every year someone makes this stupid comment about tanking the season to get a top pick! Anyone around feel like having a winning team instead??
Keukasmallies Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Wow, and I thought I was negative toward the season!
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I think this is the bills strategy. This is why they signed kolb.
Kirby Jackson Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Vegas still has us only winning 3 games next year. Therefore, should we tank it to get clowney? They say he's the next Bruce smith. Seriously, I don't want to tank the season but clowney is going to be awesome this year and in the nfl in years to come I love Clowney as much as any prospect that I have ever seen. With that being said you can't just come on here and make up numbers. http://www.vegasbettinglines.com/Bovada-NFL-Team-Props-Odds_P2848.html. The over under is currently 6 wins and I don't see a scenario where the Bills are bad enough to pick first. They have been bad forever and usually still pick between 8-12. Just not gonna happen without a trade up.
