"What if Obama can't lead?" :o

Failure of Summers Nomination Is Latest Sign Obama Is Running Out Of Steam.

“It’s a measure of just how far the president’s stock has fallen that he couldn’t get the Federal Reserve chairman he wanted because Democrats revolted. . . .

If Obama is regarded as feckless and inept on the international stage and easily pushed around by his own party, you wonder what is going to get accomplished in the next three years. Very little, I suspect.”

Under the circumstances, that’s probably the best we can hope for.

Yes, when I started this thread, I thought it was about mocking the media for its blind support of an incompetent, and trying and failing to be introspective about that.

Little did I know that it would end up not even qualifying as a punchline.

It's so obvious that Obama, and, don't forget, his cast of tools from academia, simply have no idea WTF they are doing.

Krauthammer’s Take: Obama Back to Partisanship

President Obama resumed a highly partisan stance today with his economic speech, Charles Krauthammer said.

Appearing during Special Report, Krauthammer blasted President Barack Obama for reverting to a “hyper-partisan mode” and making a “slashing attack on Republicans” in the wake of the shooting at the Navy Yard earlier today.

“To do this within minutes of thirteen naval employees, brave Americans lying dead, I thought was in extremely bad taste. He could’ve waited until tomorrow,” Krauthammer said.

Scarborough: MSNBC, MSM Would Be 'Killing' W If He Gave Partisan Speech Like Obama's on Day of Shooting

By: Mark Finkelstein

Imagine that George W. Bush had decided to proceed with a harsh,

partisan speech attacking Democrats for "hurting people," despite a scene of mass murder unfolding just 3.5 milesaway. On today's Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough imagined just such a scenario, and came to the inescapable conclusion: his own MSNBC network and the MSM at large would be "killing" W for his insensitivity and poor judgment.

Panelist John Heilemann of New York magazine grudgingly agreed that Scarborough's assessement was "kinda fair." But Mika Brzezinski empathized with our poor president: he was in a "horrible position."

I live for the day when I can see photos of Mika Brezinski in a horrible position, shifted to a worse position, and then slammed in multiple horrible positions.

The Theatre of Barack Obama: The Show Must Go On

55 percent of Obama’s Twitter followers are fake

An incredibly high percentage of President Obama’s Twitter followers are fake, while the opposite is true for Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

According to the Twitter analytics, application Status People, 55 percent of President Obama’s 36,802,378 Twitter followers — or approximately 20,240,107 followers — are fake.

A ‘fake follower,’ according to Status People, is a spam account following the user. During the presidential election season, candidates’ Twitter accounts came under public scrutiny for possibly purchasing followers to try to bolster their social media credibility.

Twenty-four percent of Obama’s Twitter followers are inactive, and only 21 percent — or approximately 7,728,499 followers — are real.

Well that's just racist nonsense. The Chosen One's twitter followers simply live in the same fictional congressional districts that Obama "saved or created" millions of jobs in, as well as in the 51st through 57th states. Along the gulf coast.

I'm surprised that people like the above Faux News-inspired nobody blogger just aren't smart enough to understand Dear Leader's nuance and calculus... they're probably spending too much time clinging to their guns and bibles and not building (writing?) anything.

It's not Obama's fault. We're just not worthy of such a leader.

This is after all Bush's fault. He failed to adequately prepare us for Obama's ascension

Obama Administration Quietly Caves on True the Vote Case

Is this related to the retirement of Lois Lerner? I don’t know, but it seems that the Obama administration has decided to cut its losses on the IRS. The Department of Justice told a federal court on Friday that it is conceding in the lawsuit brought by True the Vote, Inc., and will grant True the Vote 501©(3) status. True the Vote’s press release explains:

TTV, the nation’s leading voters’ rights organization, filed with the IRS for 501©(3) tax exempt status in July 2010 and has been awaiting a decision on its application for more than three years. After discovering in May, 2013, that its application was part of a much larger scheme targeting perceived ‘tea party’ organizations for heightened scrutiny and years of delay in processing their applications, TTV filed suit in federal district court in Washington, D.C. requesting that the Court order that its tax-exempt status be granted.

The Obama administration says that now that it has given up, the case is moot and should be dismissed. True the Vote disagrees:

Cleta Mitchell, lead counsel in the litigation, and a partner at Foley & Lardner, LLP in Washington, DC, responded to the DOJ filings by noting, “While we are glad the IRS has realized TTV’s tax exempt status should be granted and is now moving to rectify its failure to do sooner, this case is far from moot. There are still many questions to be answered, such as:

* When is the IRS going to actually issue its letter granting tax exempt status to True the Vote?

* What about the costs and damages incurred by True the Vote for the past three years while the IRS unlawfully delayed issuing the letter of recognition?

* What about all of the confidential and proprietary information sought and demanded from True the Vote that the Treasury Inspector General has stated was not necessary for determining True the Vote’s eligibility for exempt status, and which is now apparently going to be made public?

* What about the violation of True the Vote’s constitutional rights by the IRS and its agents and employees during the course of these last 3 years?

“This lawsuit is about getting to the truth and we are not going to stop until we find out the answers to these and many other questions,” added Ms. Mitchell.

Two comments. First, Foley & Lardner is a big-time law firm. It is good to see conservative organizations who are harassed by the federal government getting representation comparable to that afforded (for free) to, for example, terrorists detained at Guantanamo Bay.

Second, True the Vote is an important organization that tries to preserve ballot integrity. Without 501©(3) status, it seems obvious that contributions to TTV were depressed for three years, while the IRS improperly stalled. Did this stratagem help the Democrats to steal one or more elections? Certainly the Obama administration hoped so; that is why Obama’s politicized IRS stalled TTV’s application.

From a COMMENTS on Instapundit:

There’s an aspect to this that has gotten lost in all the inside baseball and it’s kind of the dog that isn’t barking:

Ten months ago after Obama was re-elected, the news was all about how the Republican party was on its last legs and about to die.

If you had said back then that in September of 2013 the debate would be about whether to defund Obamacare, and the tax increases, new spending, and end to the sequester, etc would be completely off the table and that a “win” for the President would be defined as maintaining discretionary spending at an Eisenhower percentage of GDP with the Bush tax cuts for the middle class permanently enshrined in federal law…

you would have been considered a total wackjob.

Good observation.
