Canadian Bills Fan Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 (edited) The skills competition should be the focal point of the Pro Bowl with the AFC competing against the NFC to win a majority of the available points. You simply cannot play football half assed and half speed. Basketball, hockey, baseball, are all fine for an all-star game as you can ease up while still playing fast. No way to do that in football. I agree. Most of us watch the NHL skills competition more than the game itself. Same goes with the Home Run Derby and the Slam Dunk contest. Is NFL the only sport that doesnt have skills competition? Hell...even the PGA has a celebrity Pro-Am EA Sports has one each year to promote Madden Football but thats not part of the Pro Bowl weekend, CBF Edited August 1, 2013 by Canadian Bills Fan
Homey D. Clown Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Or make it about which division gets to be the home team in the superbowl....that's worth something....

Is NFL the only sport that doesnt have skills competition? CBF The NFL has or at least had some sort of skills competition that was televised the day before the pro bowl in years past. It wasn't performed live like the NHL or NBA versions, but was recorded through the week, compiled then aired. It wasn't in a NFC vs. AFC format either. More like positional competitions, with speed and strength contests sprinkled in, all for individual bragging rights.
