\GoBillsInDallas/
http://inplainsight.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/07/29/19697878-its-degrading-bankrupt-new-england-mill-town-offers-detroit-a-bleak-preview If you wonder how cities go bankrupt, here’s a wonderful example. Some highlights: The town is 19,000 people, yet they have full-time firefighters with full benefits instead of volunteer departments. The ex-fire chief retires at age 42 with a full pension and full medical benefits (and no co-pay). The ex-fire chief complains that his pension was cut even though he “put in a lifetime of service.” I didn’t realize that retiring at age 42 constitutes a “lifetime”. Another firefighter puts his four children in private schools instead of public schools and now complains he has no money.
KD in CA
Good. The more this happens, the more the scumbags like Obama who protect these disgusting union scams will be forced by the public to revise this terrible system. Every public employee should have a defined contribution plan, where they can contribute to their own retirement and the employer agency can provide a matching contribution year to year that is included in the annual budget. Then they'll be nothing to 'cut' down the road.
