So what did Obama do that increased the confidence of the Bay Area?

Oh wait I'm sorry I forgot. It's all those shovel ready jobs that have our infrastructure humming here.

Oh that's right, Obama only gets blamed for bad news...

U.S. businesses have now added 14.5 million jobs over 75 straight months, extending the longest streak on record.

unemployment rate falls to 4.7%

Almost - but not quite - matching the "jobless recovery" from 2002-2008.

You liberals are such hypocrites.

Labor participation rate is pathetic. The Obama economy that he himself brags about has people giving up looking for a job.

Which progressives consider a "success," since they're no longer wage slaves.

This is one of those posts that make you realize that the Democrat party is filled with a lot of things, but intelligent people ain't one of them.

They're going to brag for years about how Obama lowered the unemployment rate. Much like we hear how Clinton created a budget surplus.

If record numbers of people are on welfare, food stamps, over 90 million adults out of work, and many jobs being reduced to only 30 hours per week, how does it square that we have record job growth and such low unemployment?

Anyone who uses "over 90 million adults out of work" is either an idiot or a propagandist- which are you?

Exactly. There aren't 90M adults out of work. There are 90M adults who are no longer in the workforce because the economy is so craptastic that they are literally unable to find any kind of viable job.

Bottom line: 4.7% unemployment!

Cha-ching! That's change you can live with!

There are 90M adults not in the labor force. That's not the same thing as "out of work." It includes: in school, staying home taking care of the kids, retired, short-term disability, subject to discrimination (mostly by age).

The actual number "out of work" - literally unable to find any kind of viable job - is more like 10M.
