DC Tom Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 LABillzFan, not to get you in hot water with my haters but I have to tell you I always enjoy reading your posts. You are definitely a good guy. LABillzFan, sorry, but you can no longer sit with me in study hall. Because I hate VWR. And since he likes you, I can no longer judge you by anything other than that little, meaningless factoid.
Chef Jim Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 LABillzFan, sorry, but you can no longer sit with me in study hall. Because I hate VWR. I just assumed you are always in the Chem lab while we're snoozing in study hall.

keepthefaith Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 This is why Boehner resigned. He sobered up just long enough to realize, holy **** what the hell are we doing.
IDBillzFan Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Q4 economy grinds to a halt...unexpectedly!
keepthefaith Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Just in time for the Summer of Recovery VII. Except it really ain't funny.
keepthefaith Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Q4 economy grinds to a halt...unexpectedly! The Dems could draw a parallel between Obamacare and the great recovery. Maybe Obamacare is just running out of steam so only universal health care can save the economy. That and another stimulus and some tax increases.
DC Tom Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Q4 economy grinds to a halt...unexpectedly! It's Trump's fault.
Chef Jim Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Why is this in the Obamanomics thread? Everyone knows that the President has no bearing on this type of thing whatsoever. That is unless, of course, if the news is positive.
Tiberius Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 It's Trump's fault. Ha ha! Actually, not that you can understand this, but Obama's policy on immigration is far better for the economy than Trump's plan which would hurt the economy terribly. Obama's path to citizenship plan is great for our economic health and its being hurt by the haters, low thinking, knuckle dragging Conservatives that oppose him. So, Obama's Liberal policies on immigration are good capitalist policies that recognize the need for a more free flowing of labor, ideas and human capital while the Republican party is stuck in a sort of national socialist mode on this topic. Obama helps America, the GOP hurts America here.

In an age where low wage jobs are being outsourced or roboticized I can't see how allowing millions of people who cannot find jobs is a good thing.
Doc Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 We've gone through this before but please remind us all again how poor unskilled labor is good for our economy. In an age where low wage jobs are being outsourced or roboticized I can't see how allowing millions of people who cannot find jobs is a good thing. Because the more poor people we have, the more money we make feeding, clothing, housing, and entertaining them. Duh!
Tiberius Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Because the more poor people we have, the more money we make feeding, clothing, housing, and entertaining them. Duh! In part, yes. The more people the more jobs, more jobs means bigger tax base. It also makes us younger demographically. Heck, even this Republican gets it. Liberal immigration polices help the economy. Conservative immigration policies hurt it. http://www.postandcourier.com/article/20140807/PC1603/140809513/1005/ All the immigrant groups have moved up into the middle class eventually. Everyone hated the Italians, Irish and Germans for a time, but they became part of the back bone of the nations culture. This group of immigrants will do the same
Tiberius Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Your lack of knowledge of basic economics is frustrating I see
DC Tom Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Your lack of knowledge of basic economics is frustrating I see In what school of economics does supply create demand?
Chef Jim Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 In part, yes. The more people the more jobs, more jobs means bigger tax base. It also makes us younger demographically. Heck, even this Republican gets it. Liberal immigration polices help the economy. Everyone hated the Italians, Irish and Germans for a time, but they became part of the back bone of the nations culture. This group of immigrants will do the same Where are all these low skilled jobs going to come from? Who from this mass of migration will be the job creators? You bring up the tired story of Irish/Italian/German migration. There's a big difference however with the immigration I'm concerned about. It's the Hispanic migration and they share a border with us and have been flowing into this country for decades. How long did the Irish/Italian/German immigration last? Why did it stop? There is no end in sight with the migration from our southern border that has already gone in for decades. And the job creation for the poor unskilled labor is not bottomless. So I ask again. Where will all these low skilled jobs come from?
