RuntheDamnBall
I love Massive Attack, PTR. Protection is my fave album of theirs -- and the song of the same name is as sexy as hell if you're looking to stir up some romance. Someone who collaborates with them a good bit: Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star. I guess all my haunting songs are in open D.

Jauronimo
If you're going with Elliott Smith, gotta choose Kings Crossing. Others: Radiohead - Street Spirit Interpol - Lights Elliott Smith - Needle in Hay Nine Inch Nails - The Day the World Went Away Nine Inch Nails - Eraser Pretty much any early NIN song really

ajzepp
I can't paste another video, but "Empty Garden" by Elton John is a song I can't hear without crying. One of my favorite songs of all time...I remember the first time I heard it back in the early 90s...I tried so hard to find it, but it seemed that NONE of his compilation albums included it. Just a beautiful song inspired by John Lennon.
