PIZ Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 I have tons of interviews to give to job applicants the next few weeks and could use advice on giving a professional and confident interview. Any self help books you know of would be appreciated? Or any advice you may have?
Beerball Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 Or any advice you may have? 202892[/snapback] Do NOT look at the cleavage. Repeat, do NOT look at the cleavage. OK, now the good stuff. I went to this page called Google and typed in "conducting and interview" and some good stuff came up. Here's one: linky
BuffaloinAtlanta Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 Sweaty Palms is a good book (no jokes please). Also, the web is a good tool - search on job interview questions.
PIZ Posted January 12, 2005 Author Posted January 12, 2005 I'm excellent when someone is interviewing me. My problem comes when I have to interview someone else.

Can't ask their age. Can't ask their religion. Can't ask their marital status. Can't ask about their ethnicity. Can't ask anything personal whatsoever. Oh...and asking them where they see themselves in five years is a waste anymore. Virtually noone with hopes of an accelerated career stays anywhere for five years.

I was asked that once and I replied, "I'm sure is was so that interviewers would have a standard question for prospective employees to determine their ability to think creatively. Oh, I'm sorry. It's so they won't slip down the manhole they cover."

With a round cover that can't happen.
