T master Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 (edited) I was listening to the interview on the John Murphy show on BB.com, he had John Clayton on talking about the flaws in the Franchise tag system . In their conversation it was mentioned that former Bills GM Bill Pollian said you shouldn't over invest at certain positions on a team . Guard & safety being 2 of them. Given that & what the Bills did with the Fitz contract (a blatant blunder in contract 1-0-1) that had no past worthy of the contract given & as discussed here many times before the front office jumped way to quick in the situation brought me to thinking of what is coming up in the future . Seeing as next year the Fitz hit will be on the cap (then as discussed in a Rumblings article) Woods & others contracts coming up quickly such as CJ, although the possibility of having 2 years left on his current contract & he could very well either decide not to play as to hold out for a more deserving contract (& i might add deservedly so) In the article on Rumblings it said the Bills can in act some clause in CJ's contract that would allow them to keep CJ an extra year at a lessor cost, which i don't see him playing for a lessor amount especially if he continues to do what he has been doing . So do they (the Bills) jeopardize in some sense the future of the team in other ways by over investing in a position that experts have said that you shouldn't over invest in ? Or do they just pay because we the fans think they should because we really like the player ? Or should they follow suit as the 49ers did with Golston & look just to develop another player such as {insert name here} to take the position & concentrate on righting the quick triggered movements that maybe adding to a tough decision for our future ? Heres where you give your 2 cents GO !! Edited July 9, 2013 by T master
