Looks like the Rams move to the front of the line again to move to timbuckto or LA. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/07/05/rams-wont-get-700-million-in-public-money-for-stadium-renovations/

...Meanwhile the Jags are going to show the redzone at games to try and uncover the tarps before they move to London lol.

...I guess this should put the Bills out in relocation talks with their new lease at least for a few years. Maybe the Dolphins looking for a government hand out will move to Havana....

Good luck getting public funding for new stadiums in the future. This was the right decision and I hope taxpayers continue to hold up the middle finger to these billionaires.

Yup. Fully agree. 700 million? Thats insane

It was a ploy by the Rams to move to LA under the pretext that they're being denied stadium improvements. Nevermind the stadium opened 18 years ago.

St. Louis got the Rams to go there with a big bag of gold and more bags promised. No surprise if Rams want to leave if bags stop flowing to the Rams.

Exactly. If this keeps happening, it will eventually set a precedent that all nfl stadiums get only private funding, or paid by league, owners, whatever. Something like this should not be left to taxpayers.

And the money to pay for stadiums needs to start affecting players. Players got portion of revenue without costs. Between future health costs and stadium costs NFL is going to tell their 'partners' they need to start sharing in costs.

Seems like buffalo is working its way away from the list of perspective movers. It's a good thing.

The problem is that if the Rams move to LA, then St. Louis is at the top of the list of cities to get a team. Bottom line, yes I would be happy if the Jaguars, Raiders, Chargers or Rams move to LA but all that really does is buy us a little bit extra time. It would not change the fact that they need a new stadium at some point.

And also you meant "prospective." But that's OK.

Stadium improvements? PAY FOR IT YOURSELVES!!!! Damn, I am sick of these billionaire owners screaming poverty while the country falls apart.

Shouldn't you be more upset at the corrupt politicians who actually give them our money?

It is time we stop this blackmail of taxpayers by the wealthy. If football is a business, the taxpayers should not be forced to pay for their profits. The NFL wants the public to share the costs and provide the investment, but is not willing to share the profits or control in return. They want the taxpayers to pay for the operation of their business, but yet explicitly forbid the taxpayers from being a team owner. If we want to buy tickets and things like seat licenses as individuals, that is our free choice. But the costs should not be forced on every taxpayer. The federal government should remove all special exemptions from sports businesses and disqualify any state and local government unit from receiving any federal funds in any year they give huge exemptions or spend public money to directly support a for profit enterprise. That is what is called Free Enterprise.

The players certainly do contribute to costs. Concussions, ravaged joints, splintered bones, etc. resulting in endless pain for the rest of their lives. Without their willingness to endure that, there would be no football product to sell.

Yup.

Now all we need is an electorate that holds its elected officials responsible for their current irresponsibility and malfeasance.

I doubt St Louis gets another team this generation. Losing two teams in such a short span signals the end to football in St Louis. The region doesn't care nearly as much about the Rams as it does the Cardinals.
