ChevyVanMiller Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Very sad news about two beloved American actresses. Was anyone ever hotter than MTM as Laura Petrie? http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2013/06/12/barbara-kay-last-of-the-tv-ladies/
Gugny Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Oh, wow. I was just mentioning both of them in the same (inappropriate) sentence. And yes ... Laura Petrie ... yes. This is terrible news. Very sad.
Cugalabanza Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Fig, what the hell have you done? I hope Marilu Henner is ok.
Gugny Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 If I understood my powers I would have picked someone like Bachmann and Palin, instead!!!
tennesseeboy Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Well...Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died on the same day. It must be that way with the great ones.
BuffaloBill Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Odd but very sad they are both in this condition.
ExiledInIllinois Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Well...Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died on the same day. It must be that way with the great ones. And on the 4th of July (1826) too! 50 years from 1776...
San Jose Bills Fan Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Ted Knight, and Ed Asner have moved on. Betty White, Gavin McCleod, Cloris Leachman and Georgia Engel (Ted's girlfriend Georgette) are still with us.
ExiledInIllinois Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Ted Knight, and Ed Asner have moved on. Betty White, Gavin McCleod, Cloris Leachman and Georgia Engel (Ted's girlfriend Georgette) are still with us. Ed Asner is still kicking. FWIW, he is only 7 years older than Mary Tyler Moore... I know hard to believe!
Buftex Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 (edited) Unashamed and unabashed "Mary Tyler Moore Show" fanatic here...very sad indeed. Love both of these women. Edited June 13, 2013 by Buftex
bbb Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 And on the 4th of July (1826) too! 50 years from 1776... Has anybody ever questioned whether this is definitely true. I'd imagine the record keeping wasn't all that precise 200 years ago.........And, the odds have all that have always totally baffled me. Very sad news about two beloved American actresses. Was anyone ever hotter than MTM as Laura Petrie? http://fullcomment.n...-the-tv-ladies/ I don't know if you can say MTM is near death. She appears to be dealing with some major health issues - broken bones and pneumonia (on top of diabetes), but whose to say she can't recover? It says she's in seclusion at home. Yeah, she broke her !@#$ing hip!
Max Fischer Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Has anybody ever questioned whether this is definitely true. I'd imagine the record keeping wasn't all that precise 200 years ago.........And, the odds have all that have always totally baffled me. Well, since hundreds (thousands?) of books, documentaries and serious academic papers have not questioned the date, I'd say there is a good chance it's true. Adams last words were that Jefferson lives, but TJ had died hours earlier. JA should checked Twitter.
plenzmd1 Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Oh man...those tight pants with sweater. Without a doubt my first MILF fantasy...

Yeah, she broke her !@#$ing hip! I hope and pray that she recovers, but the first paragraph did end by saying, "Friends fear for her life."
Chef Jim Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Sad news indeed but I was never a big fan of MTM. Would you just stop whining and just shut up!!
Mark Vader Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 If I understood my powers I would have picked someone like Bachmann and Palin, instead!!! Nice.
Mark Vader Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Question for all: Was MTM funnier as Mary Richards or Laura Petrie?
Gugny Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Question for all: Was MTM funnier as Mary Richards or Laura Petrie? Gonna go with Mary Richards on this one. She was awesome in both roles and I loved both shows. But she was less of a supporting role in MTM.
