Gene Frenkle Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 College statistics and records At the end of his college career, Tebow held 5 NCAA 14 Southeastern Conference, and 28 University of Florida statistical records. He was the SEC's all-time leader in career passing efficiency (170.8), completion percentage (67.1%), passing touchdown to interception ratio (5.5 to 1), rushing yards by a quarterback (2947), rushing touchdowns (any position) (57), and total touchdowns responsible for (145) Among many mentions in the NCAA Division-I record book, Tebow is ranked second in career passing efficiency, third in career yards per attempt (9.33), 8th in career rushing touchdowns, and also owns the record for most consecutive games in which he both threw at least one touchdown pass and scored at least one rushing touchdown. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Tebow ATHLON ranks him #2 in the top 50 QB's of the BCS era 2. Tim Tebow, Florida (2006-09) Stats: 9,285 yds, 88 TD, 16 INT, 66.4%, 2,947 yds, 57 TD The top two quarterbacks are a cut above the rest as Tebow is the only player who can challenge Young for top honors. Four years of huge statistics makes him the all-time SEC leader in total yards, total touchdowns, rushing touchdowns and passing efficiency (170.8). He won the Heisman Trophy in 2007 as well as the Davey O'Brien and Maxwell Award. He won the SEC Player of the Year, Manning and Maxwell Awards the following year in which he led Florida to its second national title in three years. He fell one game shy in 2009 of playing in — and likely winning — three national titles in four years. His speech following the loss to Ole Miss in '08 has been immortalized in Gator football lore. http://www.athlonspo...erbacks-bcs-era NBC Sports has him at #2 http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/32696409 Somebody's getting a Tebowner!!!
vincec Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 So far it seems that the posters with an irrational hatred for Tim Tebow are winning out over the ones who have their heads up Bill Belichick's behind. Interesting, I thought it would've been closer. I suspect that the desire for the Patriots to bomb is skewing the results.
Blaise321 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Somebody's getting a Tebowner!!! Tebow to the Pats and Lebron in the finals is basically Viagra for ESPN.
Ralph W. Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Allow me to reiterate, he also won in the NFL. Took over a 1-4 team, and then managed to guide them to the division title and the playoffs. Then managed to beat the Steelers in the playoffs. To me this kid is the anti-Trent Edwards who always looked great in practice, and then floundered once on the field. Tebow looks like crap in practice but manages play great at times, and inspire his team to wins Most of the Bills fans in this forum blame the QB for the majority of the teams failure to win games, and yet with Tebow, Bills fans want to say the team carried him to wins. Anyway, I'll be pissed if he turns out to be a play maker for the Patriots. Belichick did this to stick it to the Jets IMO. Don't ever try to tell me Tebow did much. The defense and special teams deserves a medal for that work they did during the season.
WotAGuy Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 .........nor his connections to the Prince of Darkness. This should be an epic battle. Called it! http://profootballmock.com/tim-tebow-embraces-pure-evil-as-requirement-of-patriots-contract/
Nanker Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I don't know if you've been had by the Tebow hype machine or are part of the Tebow hype machine, but this completely fabricated rumor that you continue to spread has never had single morsel of truth to it. The Bills were after Demaryius Thomas and had no interest in Tim Tebow Maybe I have been had. I have no love for Tim, but I do think he's been screwed over by the JESTS and the ranting of his haters is nauseating. But why would Ralph make an absurd comment that Denver panicked in moving back up to take Tebow? Sounds too much like somebody took his cookies and warm milk. We've got this from Buddy on how his HC will have a say in what kind of player he picks. And also, in that linky, only Bradford, Claussen and Tebow are mentioned at all. Coincidence or just snow? At that point in the program, if Ralph said to Nix, "Buddy - pick Tebow," he'd have been a Bill. That's MHO. That's all.
The Dog Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 This is great New England is truly in the start of the decline
Doc Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Maybe if his surgeon washed his hands more often..... Or his porn stars...among other things.
KD in CA Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Tebow to the Pats and Lebron in the finals is basically Viagra for ESPN. They are one Brett Favre story away from a triple orgasm.
49er Fan Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 New England has been winning for years based on very solid football technique. Everyone knows their respective roles. Look at guys like Danny Woodhead and Julian Edelman. These guys make plays as Patriots because they're versatile and they're well-coached, not because they have more talent or athleticism than other players. Same for Wes Welker and even Brady. There is no way either of them put up even half the numbers they have in their careers with another team. Look at Mike Vrabel. A linebacker who catches 10 touchdowns. The fact is, Tebow is going to work hard and receive excellent coaching; and he'll be put in positions to make plays. Maybe just as a blocker or a decoy at times, but I have zero doubt that he will contribute significantly on that team in whatever role they find for him.

I have no love for the guy either, but I see that he was a winner in both college AND the NFL, which is a rarity in my view. Its also not getting the hate spewed by Bills fans in this forum. Yea i got sick of hearing about him also but i just simply watch something else rather then complain about it.
starrymessenger Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Or people rip on Manti Teo because he's a dumbass. Or because he stuck to Womack like an old fly on fly paper and when he finally got off the block Lacy hit him like a truck. Or because he stuck to Womack like an old fly on fly paper and when he finally got off the block Lacy hit him like a truck. That's Warmack. Fat fingers vs Ipad.
BuffaloBob Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 (edited) Somebody's getting a Tebowner!!! The second time I've blown a swallow of drink through my nose reading this thread today! This time with Acai Iced Tea. My nasal passages thank you! Edited June 12, 2013 by BuffaloBob

As I said earlier, I envision the Cheatriots*** giving him a limited package of (quarterback) plays and going from there. But I don't see them taking snaps away from Brady. On some level Tebow could be viewed as a developmental QB but I'm still not quite understanding how he fits.

Where he rolls to the left or a zone read play.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 reporter - so coach how do you plan on using Tebow? Hoody - Were are bringing Tim in to start and we will have some 3rd down packages for Brady as he is getting older and needs to spend more time with Giselle.
Mr. WEO Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Don't ever try to tell me Tebow did much. The defense and special teams deserves a medal for that work they did during the season. Ah, yes, the vaunted Denver D that gave up over 40 points 5 times in 2011--3 times in the last 5 weeks (once to the Bills!). Or his porn stars...among other things. It seems clear that his porn star girlfriend is likely cleaner than his OR team....she isn't the one responsible for 3 trips to the OR, so far.
Optometric Insight Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 (edited) Not sure if this is worthy of another thread (why would we need two tim tebow threads...) but ESPN references Tebow 160 times during one SC episode. Edited June 12, 2013 by Teen Insight
Nanker Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 It's sports reporting's version of film noir. It's all about obsession that borders on the unhealthy if not maniacal. Sports fans are not alone in being susceptible to the siren's seductive lure if that's any consolation.
