Dean Cain Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 EJ, if for the only reason that every veteran that was a Bill last season went 6-10. If EJ goes 7-9 it's proof he is our best player by de-facto W/L record.
ganesh Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 What no love for the defensive line? You mean that Underperforming Unit made of a bunch of 300+ lb jokers!
eball Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 As others have said, the answer on offense begins and ends with Spiller. He's a bonified stud -- potentially a top 10 player in the NFL, period. This is the guy who will make young kids not living in Buffalo start watching the Bills (the way Thurman did in the late 80s/early 90s). On defense, it has to be Mario. If Mike Pettine says the goal of the defense is to prevent offenses from knowing where Mario is coming from, that's all I need to hear.
MDH Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Best player on the team last year: Probably Spiller. Best player on the team this year: I'll go Gilmore. He's going to blossom into one of the top 3 CBs in the league.
ChanOverChin Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 This year it will be Spiller on offense. He is going to have an absolute monster year. On defense, I think Mario Williams, Dareus, Gilmore, and Byrd all have Pro Bowl years in Pettine's aggressive scheme. Anyone of the four could be our best defensive player this year.
machine gun kelly Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Just to add color to this discussion, I can see Kyle Williams having a breakout year in 2013. If I had to guess based on last year it's spiller.
Chandler#81 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 co-OPOY, EJ & Da'Rick. DPOY will be Gilmore. If I HAD to guess..
NobesBLO13 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Spiller, and I don't think there will be a doubt after this year.
Dragonborn10 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Offense: Spiller but don't be surprised if Robert Woods isn't the second best Defense: Gilmore just beats our Mario, but truly hoping Dareus becomes the dominant force on the line ST: McKelvin is as dangerous as Spiller. If the criteria is other teams game planning against a player then he qualifies. Truly hope they still let him return punts.
BillsFanM.D. Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Spiller. Does any other player make you 'sit up in your chair' every time he gets the ball? Nobody on D is as close to being that exciting though it is apples and oranges.
Optometric Insight Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I was hoping to be the first one to say it but I guess not... I think McKelvin will be one of the explosive players on the roster this year. You usually only need to win 2 out of the 3 parts of the game (Offense, Defense, Special Teams). McKelvin gives you an excellent chance to win the special teams part every game and makes me get excited even if the other team just scored.
Thurmal34 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Spiller, by far. He's one of the top players in the NFL IMO. As a quick aside, after Fred got hurt in 2011, wasn't Spiller either #1 or #2 in total yards from that point on?
papazoid Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 in order: #1- Mario Williams #2- Kyle Williams (was #1 before injury) #3- Jairus Byrd #4- C J Spiller #5- Eric Wood #6- Stevie Johnson #7- Stephon Gilmore
billsfan_34 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 CJ Spiller and Kyle Williams hands down. For me they were easy choices.
ChanOverChin Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 If Kyle Williams can recover fully from his foot injury he could have a shot. I can't list him ahead of M. Williams/Dareus/Gilmore/Byrd until I see evidence of that.
Turbosrrgood Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 (edited) Garrison Sanborn, all the way. Garrison Sanborne. Damn, too late. Edited June 7, 2013 by Turbosrrgood
