The Tomcat Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 http://www.amazon.co...rd_i=B00CF7KVMI Do I need a DirecTV subscription to access NFL Sunday Ticket? No, it's not necessary to have a DirecTV subscription. Each Anniversary Edition includes a code that can be redeemed to access the full 2013 regular season (17 weeks) of NFL Sunday Ticket on computer, tablet, and mobile devices This seems like an answer to me! Thanks for the heads up

The Tomcat Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) It does cost $99 dollars. Not there yet but want to run it through my head a bit... The game by itself is $59.99 so it basically costs $40 if your buying Madden anyways... Hmmmm getting closer. It seems Madden 25 (anniversary addition) is only for Xbox 360 and not the new Xbox one which would be released in November.... I believe Madden will be available on the One....decisions decisions Edited July 3, 2013 by The Tomcat
HurlyBurly51 Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 What does the performance of the Bills have to do with your desire to renew the ticket? I thought we bought the ticket to watch other teams. As an out of town Bills fan, my decision to purchase Sunday Ticket is based about 99% on my desire to watch all Bills games. The ability to see all other teams/games is a nice throw-in. I'm thinking this is the mindset of the majority of Sunday Ticket purchasers across the country as well.
major Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Called them about three weeks ago and said "I expect to get Sunday ticket free again". The rep said I called too early but he put it in my notes that I'm getting it free. I'll call back in two weeks to thank them for giving it to me for free. Manipulation all the way
NoSaint Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Good luck with the apartment pitch. Having spoken with a DTV rep last year, he basically said house boat, RV or homeless are the only conditions that justify DTV "ineligible." interesting. ive heard the pitch works for many. simply providing documentation of the rule SHOULD get you cleared, from what i had heard. im no DTV expert, but i did look at the package and had a discussion based on the building im in not allowing dishes. seems like a trainwreck all around. how many folks do you think buy the $100 package then get denied?
Dorkington Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Again, not according to the guy I talked to. And no building can "not allow" dishes, so I'm told by DTV. From what I read of actual users of DTVs PS3/mobile apps last year, it was basically a YES/NO question on the app itself. I have no first hand experience though, so hopefully your DTV contact is just harping the safe company line. interesting. ive heard the pitch works for many. simply providing documentation of the rule SHOULD get you cleared, from what i had heard. im no DTV expert, but i did look at the package and had a discussion based on the building im in not allowing dishes. seems like a trainwreck all around. how many folks do you think buy the $100 package then get denied? It'd seem silly to throw away so many $100 sales. But I also imagine that their agreement with the NFL has something to do with their "official" line.

TaskerTough Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Well actually I'm still under my original 2 year contract, so don't have complete flexibility. Can't totally threaten to quit without cancellation fees, but can cancel ST I'm in the same boat... what do you mean cancel ST?? Also, I once dreamt of a scenario where a group of Direct TV users like you and me all got together, and threatened a mass exodus..

Not a DTV person myself, just someone that did a little research into the package before.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 What does the performance of the Bills have to do with your desire to renew the ticket? I thought we bought the ticket to watch other teams. Who is "we?" I buy the Sunday Ticket primarily for the Bills games.
eball Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Who is "we?" I buy the Sunday Ticket primarily for the Bills games. As, I'm certain, do nearly all out-of-town Bills fans. That was an odd comment.

GoBills! Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 (edited) I moved from a single family home to a condo....At the time the movers deal didnt include the free sunday ticket but did include the genie so I was SOL...What I like to do is juice up my programing a couple of days prior to calling so they think I spend 120 a month on their services... When I spoke to the rep I just said when the did the movers deal they said I can get the genie now but have to wait for the sunday ticket deal to be added in about 2 months so I when I called.. I told them I was told to call when the deal was released to have the bonus offer sunday ticket added in....they did not question it and found ways to save my fake 120 month bill another 10 bucks a month....later on I was back on my usual 65 a month plan... I brag to my wife that the savings goes towards my beer for the season...Last year the viacom deal got my free sunday ticket and the year before was my first year...and I got it again this year..I love their service and the fact they look for ways to make you happy even if they know you blowing smoke ...also I have comcast for internet so I dont like all my eggs in one basket if service goes down.. JohnC Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 (edited) Editorial comment: this is always one of my favorite threads of the year. Always looking for a new angle to use with DTV. Carry on... I'm with you on this topic. I listen to some of the discount approaches and try to select the most plausible case i can provide to the representative. Usually I'm very hesitant to make my case but in the end I sheepishly make the call. For the past few years I have gotten the discount. So again I will make the call and put my hesitancy aside. Do you know what I will do if the representative says no? I will at a later time try again. Edited July 5, 2013 by JohnC
Thirdborn Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I called to cancel today, they dropped my monthly bill to 55.00 and gave me sunday ticket free for the year .......I tried this last year, and they wouldn't budge. Guess it's the luck of the draw.

Guess it's the luck of the draw. Did you get the Genie out of the deal? I'm not on contract and I feel like I have a lot of chips to play at the DTV Casino. Best part of DTV is you can get deals just by going after them!
