Maybe Spiller will get out of Buffalo and find another team for his big payday-a team that can actually win and use him right.

Do you believe your posts are bringing anything constructive or conversation-worthy to the table?

What? You dont think this is a possibility?

You're seriously asking what? It's pretty obvious you're trolling here. So as J-Gun suggested, you'll get no further responses from me...

Is it so hard to see his posts and not respond? How many threads are we gonna let this one troll have to himself.

Indeed...chalkin' him up to ignore.

No trolling, just stating a fact-it should be a concern of the Bills FO. He has a chance to make some big $$ and there will be plenty of offers out there, especially considering the amount up snaps he has taken for Buffalo is a lot less than most people would expect. He would cdertainly be one of the bigger named Free Agents to come out.

as per yahoo sports, #Bills gain $7.25 million in cap space thanks to post June 1 designation on Fitz release. will have $19 mill in space

Do you see us using any of that cap on someone, be it a free agent or extending a current player?

PTR

don't forget next year we have dead cap space because of FItz

Also EJ has yet to be signed so subtract another $1.5

If we roll over that cap space to next year we will have moderate cap space next year. Right now our 2014 cap is about $105 million with no expectation of the cap going up much at all next year. So if we roll over $17 mil and we are hypothetically $17 mil under the cap next year we have a $34 mil cap for next year. Not too shabby but not huge either.

So yes I see us using the money to sign some of our own, one way or another.

but $19 mil under right now doesn't mean we should go on a spending spree either. if you notice the trend the last few years we always have a moderate amount of money each off-season. The Bills are doing a decent job of maintaining the cap each year.

We have $19M in cap room for 2013. $10M is rollover, and we'll lose $4M when Fitz' cap penalty increases from 3M to 7M. Meaning we have $5M that will carry over to 2014, before we decide on whatever contracts are expiring.

If Fitz had agreed to a restructured contract in the neighborhood of both what he got in Tennessee and what Kolb got here, our 2013 space would be 22M instead of 19, and our 2014 space would be 12M instead of 5.

The renegotiation talks were going nowhere. Hence Buddy's well documented frustration in the taped conversation. Fitz was released later that day. The Bills saved 3 million by releasing him that day.

a good chunk of the remainder cannot be rolled over to next year as you cant carry last years rollover and bring it with you 2 years in a row (correct?)

in other words, we should spend to the limit even if that means structuring deals to hit hard in year one and be cheaper down the line. otherwise we should have let Fitzs hit go into this year. if we do not spend 12m of the 19m this THIS YEAR, than the rollover last year amounts to a marketing ploy.

Thanks for the info. Isn't $10m of our current 19 actually rollover from last year, which is ineligible to be rolled into 2014? Minus about 1.5 for Manuel, we can rollover about 7.5m?

Then in 2014 we lose 4m due to the increase in Fitz' penalty, leaving about 3.5m, plus the 7.5 rollover, plus I believe the cap is expected to increase about 2m, equals in the neighborhood of $13.5m in total cap space for 2014. Or am I missing something?

First year hits often aren't that bad on big deals. High signing bonus low salary - lower hit

If we don't spend near the limit ill be very upset about the fitz cap hits not being this year.

That wouldn't make sense for the Bills. They'd rather take hit this year then next year when cap space will be tighter.

generally speaking yes at this point - as there arent a lot of places to spend. being 19m under though, they have nearly no limitations if they did find a spot they wanted to go crazy with. this isnt a challenging roster to manage finances with yet, and really unless EJ is a star fast it wont be for awhile (even then a few more years)

if they wanted to add a couple of mid priced vet FA's, their cap situation is far from a limitation.

I just looked at a few of your most recent posts based on what really good posters have said about you in this thread. Welcome to my ignore list.
