Just Jack Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 Reward for Soldier's Camera? It's a story that's got people fuming in Philadelphia, and it all stems from a Syracuse man's demand for cash. Michael Crook was at a Philadelphia Eagles’ football game, down in the City of Brotherly Love. At some point during the game, he found a digital camera, that belonged to Army Specialist Elwood Wrigley, a soldier from Philly. Crook let a local television station there know he had found Wrigley’s camera at the stadium, and offered to return it...for a finder's fee of $1,000! Wrigley says he was originally worried less about the camera, and more about what was in it – digital photos of his army buddies in Afghanistan. As it turns out, the digital camera's memory card didn't have those pictures, but Wrigley says he still wants his camera back. More of the story at the link above
Alaska Darin Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 The continuing theme of "Some people are alive only because it is illegal to kill them" rears its ugly head yet again.
Mark VI Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 " NewsChannel 9 visited Michael Crook's website, and there’s one interesting note to pass along: Crook notes that his site is sponsored by an organization called "Citizens Against the Troops." " Nice. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:

DC Tom Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 " NewsChannel 9 visited Michael Crook's website, and there’s one interesting note to pass along: Crook notes that his site is sponsored by an organization called "Citizens Against the Troops." " Nice. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: 201302 From all apppearances, "Citizens Against the Troops" is Crook's own organization, with a member ship of one - Crook. In other words, just a lame attempt to give his opinions more credence than he thinks they have. Basically, I think this kid's just a BF-like punk looking for attention, who should be ignored. After someone beats the living sh-- out of him and gets the camera back.
ch19079 Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 i can understand the guy wanting a reward. but a reward should not be demanded or ransomed off for momories. and we are not talkin about a family trip. we are talkin about a guy fighting for his country, and pictures of LIFE THREATENING SITUATIONS. i wonder what whould happen to this guy if this happened in afaginstan???? he should just say, its mine, i want it back. if he says no, beat the crap out of him. then ask again. and see what he says.
USMCBillsFan Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 I would LOVE to come face to face with this !@#$. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:
ch19079 Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 I can't.. 201352 $10 reward for returning a $100+ camera is reasonable. but like i said, it should not be expected, or demanded.

Because doing the right thing requires monetary compensation?
Mark VI Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 Why? Because doing the right thing requires monetary compensation? 201387 Old Lady " Young man, could you help me cross the street ? " Crook " What's in it for me ? Talk to my agent. " Go America !
ch19079 Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 Why? Because doing the right thing requires monetary compensation? 201387 missed the whole point of my post.... you dont do the right thing because of a reward, i would do it cus thats what ive always done. I would reject the reward (if there was one) he offers in gratitude, with a smile, and handshake. but if he just said thanks and walk away, without offering even a few bucks, i would still smile, but in my head i would be thinking... "what a d***". but to get back to the original topic, ransoming off memories for 1000 bucks should get this guy atleast a beating by someone somewhere.
Tux of Borg Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 What would the mob do? In 2005 they would sue you for stolen property. I'd laugh my ass off if an old lady came up to him in the store and started whacking him with her purse. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: Scumbag
