JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Saw a funny reply to that on a different site: "When I was 14 I was good at... listening to that song".
DC Tom Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 http://www.huffingto...html?1369322278 The hard part is being the first one to play it...which is why Eddie Van Halen is Eddie Van Halen. And I'm finishing my next guitar just like that. That is a gorgeous instrument.
The Poojer Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) My thoughts were it goes to show how much van Galen(Eddie & company less Sammy) sucks(ed) Edited May 23, 2013 by The Poojer
Helpmenow Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Sammy does suck. Saw them with hagar in san diego. The hagar ballads just suck
The Poojer Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 saw sammy open for boston in syracuse in '78...he did not suck then...in fact he was awesome Sammy does suck. Saw them with hagar in san diego. The hagar ballads just suck
mrags Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 No I wouldn't. She's only 14. But give it 4 years (2 1/2 in Nevada) and maybe. Oh wait.... This isn't one of those threads?
Doc Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Yeah, SH on his own was very good. Van Hagar wasn't so great. Damn that DLR for his monstrous ego and thinking he could go it alone.
Gugny Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I was 13 in 1984 and, like most kids my age, a huge Van Halen fan. It took me over a year to agree to listen to "5150." In the meantime, I remained a DLR fan (his solo stuff, while overall crappy, was full of talent with Vai and Sheehan) and was lucky enough to catch him in concert a couple times. The Hagar stuff grew on me. Not so much the ballads. But some of the other stuff was pretty kick ass, in my opinion. "OU812" was a decent album and "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge," I thought, really rocked. Moreso than either of the first two with Hagar. Then the wheels came off. Everything after that point, with Hagar, Cheron and DLR, has been pure schit. Anyway ... while I prefer the 1978 - 1984 albums, hands down, I can't say that I don't enjoy those first three Van Hagar albums.
