Beastly Dareus Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Very good special teamer, apparently http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/Free-agent-RB-Montell-Owens-visits-Bills/f6f5f4ad-043b-4c1d-899a-78b175461910?campaign=tw_buf_article
Luxy312 Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I question an article a little when it says he holds a record of 118 special teams tackles in a season. Slightly overstated. LOL.
Beastly Dareus Posted May 20, 2013 Author Posted May 20, 2013 I question an article a little when it says he holds a record of 118 special teams tackles in a season. Slightly overstated. LOL. Im thinking its a typo and meant to say "in a career" not season.
The Big Cat Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Im thinking its a typo and meant to say "in a career" not season. According to wikipedia: it's a franchise record for Jacksonville. As is his 30 in one season (2009). So...
San Jose Bills Fan Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 The former talk show host? I would think that this would be bad news for Chris Brown. Seriously, for a special teams ace, he's averaged over 5 yards per carry in his career. Small sample size I know, but still: In his career he has 56 rushes for 292 yards and three touchdowns. He also has 12 career receptions for 132 yards.
Nanker Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Yeah but his initials don't rhyme with "hey" Maybe his middle name is Jasper.
Jamie Nails Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Sign him; give him #81 and breathe new life into the plethora of T.O. jerseys people still wear at the Ralph.
Coach Tuesday Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Sign him; give him #81 and breathe new life into the plethora of T.O. jerseys people still wear at the Ralph. Please try to speak up.
The Big Cat Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 This is how you do-ooooooooo it! THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT!
starrymessenger Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Wouldn't mind MO at all. 5'10 225 ran a 4.48 40. Did a good job filling in for MJD last year. One of the best ST players in the league and a pro through and through.

Over 29 years of fanhood Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 5-10 225 is stout... T Henry type dimensions.
Luxy312 Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 If they do sign him, he's a special teamer first and foremost. However, let's think out of the box a little here. Freddy hasn't been able to complete a season in very recent times. They may perceive that Spiller can't carry the load, nor Choice share it with him if he had to step in for 6 games of the season. He might represent a good multi-purpose player. Definitely can help on special teams thought none the less.
swnybillsfan Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 5-10 225 is stout... T Henry type dimensions. low center of gravity and fast could be interesting, those bowling ball types can be hard to tackle.
Lurker Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Maybe more than a visit (unless he packed really, really light)... "Owens, wearing Bills team-issued shorts, spent this morning watching practice at One Bills Drive." http://blogs.buffalonews.com/press-coverage/2013/05/former-jags-rb-montell-owens-at-bills-practice-this-morning.html
ChanOverChin Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 RB/FB M. Owens can run the football. He's a heck of a lot more than just a ST player or a blocking FB. I paid a lot of attention to him last year because I had picked him up in my FFL. He would be a very nice addition to the team and might be the short yardage running back that the Bills really need. If you recall, the one NE game last year when Spiller tried to score from the one yd line and got absolutely crushed by Wilfork then you understand what I mean when I say that the Bills could really use a big back for short yardage/goal line situations.
starrymessenger Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 would this be competition for choice? If he is signed and sticks Choice is probably out of a job, tho MO is a fullback and Choice has been pretty decent as a reserve running back.
