It does seem unlikely to me. But if like you suggest the Ralph indeed is full of younger, hard drinking, blue collar types that have been tailgating all day and the other stadiums are filled with older white collar people who show up just for the game then it could be at least possible.

Plus if the info is coming from a sheriff who works at the Ralph I would tend to believe that over Wikipedia.

All I was saying was if your characterization of the crowds is accurate, it could be possible.

at one point a 10 second 100m and a 4 minute mile were impossible too. As well as landing on the moon. But then there are some people that will point that all that is skewed because of steroids and the moon landing was really a fake just to show we could do it before the Russians.

Anyone can believe what they want. In not attempting to get people to follow me here. Was simply pointing out a but of information that recieved a while back but Didnt post any of it until the right topic was brought up. This seemed like the right one.

Of course The reports that my friend recieves from the head of security at the stadium could be skewed as well. Who the hell really knows. But when he says "the Talph probably has more arrests every Sunday than just about every other NFL stadium combined" and I trust this guy as much as someone can be trusted, then I tend to believe it. Then again, like I said, maybe their information is wrong. But when he says the NFL has been against us having Primetime games for some time now. And Brandon has been the one pushing them. It kind makes sense doesn't it? Just saying.

Thanks CM for the support. Don't need it, but thanks for not completely flaming away like some others that only want to believe what they read in the Buffalo News.

i think the primetime games are more of a result of the Bills being a poor to terrible team with little to no star power.

And part of the rennovations is to upgrade the broadcasting infrastructure for primetime games, no?

Those numbers also mirror the percentage of college aged straight dudes who find themselves naked in some older gay dudes house in OP on the Monday after a Bills game.

What does our second round pick have to do with this topic?

Hope you're not referring to me there...all I said was that I believe you about what your friend says, but that the #s can't be compared.

Mrags, thanks for the inside info. This was an interesting tidbit, especially the news that Brandon is pushing the NFL for more primetime, while the NFL pushes back. I really always thought conventional wisdom was Ralph hated night games because of the travel/work the next day burden on folks from Rochester and beyond.

Regarding stadium arrests/buffoonery, I'd speculate the Ralph to be close to the top, if not the chief offender on any list. Thats probably a given. All the other stadiums combined? It's possible, but I'd speculate off the top of my head that may be an exaggeration.

Still appreciate the inside scoop though. You mentioned there's other stories that for whatever reason you wouldn't want to share. Since this one collected four pages, I'd imagine I'm not the only one interested. Keep em coming.

Did they say anything about weed?

lol

Now THAT'S a policy! "Well, the bad news is, no open containers, the good news is, weed is legal - smoke up Johnny!"

I bet the crowds would be waaaaaay less rowdy...

Count me as one Canadian who likes to go to Bill's games to watch the game. I have seen too many Canadians who travel to games for the sole purpose of partying.

Consider the number of busloads of Canadians that come down to games. These busses are boarded, as early as 7:00 AM and the drinking starts as soon as they get on the bus. No wonder they are drunk when they get to the game.

I see these drunken idiots in the line at the stadium. Rarely are they refused entry. The security at RWS could save themselves a lot of trouble if they would stop these idiots at the gates.

I can't imagine that the Bills' crowd is any worse than the Raiders', for one.

I have never since the Ralph opened ever felt threatened by anyone. Of course like most there are always a good showing of drunk A-Holes, like any major league stadium.

Now, the Raiders is a completely different story. As for the drinking, the Colliseum puts Bills fans to shame for

violence, drugs, and drunks. Hard to tell if arrest numbers mean anything about how any NFL stadium deals with those problems.

Even the chit stick candlestick park with the wine toting yuppies can put on some pretty heavy duty drunk fueled activities from time to time. When the Giants Dodgers games were played years ago. it was probably one of the scariest ball parks in California.

Don't they tpically put the arrest numbers in the Buffalo paper on Monday (or even on WGR)?

I feel like I've them say "20 people were arrested at last nights game" which doesn't seem like a whole lot to me considering there are 70k people there!

And while there are a lot of drunken fools at Bills games, I've rarely felt threatened (except for those 2 - 4 times I was actually threatened). I go to events and concerts all around the country, a Bills game doesn't strike me as any crazier than that rest...

You're right and I'm wondering if mrags's source is including ejections in his estimation. Because I've seen over a dozen people ejected at once. Those of you who regularly go to games must see security escorting people away all game long. I wouldn't be surprised if I heard that over 1,000 are ejected each week. Countless times over the time I've been a season ticket holder, I've heard security say things along the lines of "If you don't leave willingly right now, you'll be arrested."

While it may not be the most responsible thing to do, if the stadium is understaffed by security, the most practical thing may be for the security to simply send unruly fans on their way. It seems only the most egregious violators, or those that refuse to leave are the ones who wind up getting booked.

I think the hiring of more security is directly correlated to the death of a fan who was ejected, who probably should've been arrested or otherwise dealt with by law enforcement (or perhaps received medical attention), rather than just sent away to fend for himself in an extremely inebriated (incapacitated?) state.

Hammer, does this mean only we can not have a beer while walking from yours, or any other lot, along Abbott or Southwestern? If so, what is the issue?

Lets hope to get this thread back on track from the eternal arguments about Bills games and fan behavior.

You're correct, I over-exaggerated. I just still can't get those nightmare Browns and Pats* games out of my head from a few years back. At the very least, (if I recall correctly) the Pats* game was in NE not the Ralph, so we didn't choke at home.

Don't forget the Cowboy game in 2007. Primetime games at the Ralph have been close and exciting. I would think the NFL would like that. Edited by reddogblitz

i wasn't pointing you out here. Just saying in general. That goes for almost every topic on this board at almost all times. Someone provides knowledge of a situation from inside sources and people always seem to shoot it down.

I'm guilty of it many times myself. It's times like this, that I sit back and realize not all the time in right or need to argue things.
