bowery4
Always liked Derrick and was sad when his career was cut short. Glad he got by that and helped this kid, doubt it is coincidence he ended up trying out with the Bills, best of luck! Good big CBs are sorely needed. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/Burroughs-pupil-Kearney-hoping-to-stick-with-Bills/abafd3e1-8444-4c02-bda2-bcc0c73f6e96

San Jose Bills Fan
^^^^^^^^ It never registered with me that your avatar was Derrick Burroughs. That's cool. As to the OP's link thanks for posting. Damond Talbot knows this kid and was very effusive in his praise for Kearney. Some people are incredulous that the Bills didn't draft a CB this year but their UDFA corners look very interesting and I think that Justin Rogers is in deep trouble. Rubes
Perhaps, but most UDFAs look intriguing this time of year. We'll see come late August.
DDD
I remember that play. Leonard Smith collided into Burroughs. I also remeber watching the Burroughs retirement press conference- he was crying. I felt bad for the guy. He struggled his first few years in the league but had become a solid CB just before the injury and when the Bills peaked. JESSEFEFFER
I wonder what Derrick Burroughs thinks about every time he sees Chris Collingsworth on the air. Edited May 15, 2013 by JESSEFEFFER
KD in CA
Good story, thanks for posting. I always liked Derrick too; glad to see he's found success after the NFL.
Tipster19
Thanks for posting, it's nice to hear about Derrick and what he has been doing. I wonder if he would of made a difference in that first Super Bowl with the Giants because WRs Mark Ingram and Stephen Baker came up with some big catches. Wayne Fontes
If Burroughs stays healthy and he and Nate remain a tandem, there is no need for a Kirby Jackson, JD Williams or Mickey Washington. Edited May 16, 2013 by Wayne Fontes
bowery4
If Burroughs stays healthy and he and Nate remain a tandem..... Yeah, I have thought about that too. I also wonder if there was any contact between the Derrick and Everett.
San Jose Bills Fan
Check out his picture on cbssports.com http://www.cbssports.../vernon-kearney The last white cornerback I remember is Jason Sehorn. I could be forgetting someone though.
