Justice Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/05/10/mccain-wants-to-scuttle-blackout-rule/ I'm an out of towner so the blackout rule doesn't affect me, but I still hate the rule. Good point made by John McCain.
boyst Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Yeah! I cannot wait to get to watch all of the Panthers games. I really get where it this is coming from and support it - but, you have to allow the CBS channel to show the national game. Here I could watch Jets @ Panthers when Texans @ Broncos could be the national game... and who'd want to watch the Jets or Panthers? If they're going to do this they need to get local affiliates to bid on the individual rights to non-exclusive games. CBS gets the AFC game with a CBS affiliate - the CW for example or a cable channel - carrying the local game. Fox gets the National game with FX getting the local game. Now, for those of you crying that you'd have to have cable to get the channels, no. Fox here is 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4. They could show four games. CBS has 9.1 9.2 and 9.3. The national game on the first station, the local on the second.
