LOL, well so much for the "we were victims too" spin attempted by the left.

Three days ago, the IRS’s new acting director (hand picked from Pres. Obama's team) hinted that the agency had been targeting progressives too, a claim supposedly confirmed by the IRS’s latest report to Congress. Lefties naturally took that to be a smoking gun that there was never any political bias and a willing media went right with it.

Now here comes IG Russell George to say that, according to his audit, it’s all basically a lie:

IRS inspector general: No, liberal groups weren’t “targeted” the way tea-party groups were

http://hotair.com/archives/2013/06/27/irs-inspector-general-no-liberal-groups-werent-targeted-the-way-tea-party-groups-were/

Today the Inspector General confirmed that 292 conservative groups were targeted by the IRS. Only 6 liberal groups were targeted.

The Washington Examiner reported:

Refuting Democratic suggestions that progressive groups were also swept up in the IRS probe of the tax status of Tea Party organizations,
the Treasury Department’s inspector general has revealed that just six progressive groups were targeted compared to 292 conservative groups.

Here is a copy of the IG’s letter on IRS abuse to top Democrats on the Oversight Committee.

IRS auditor reaffirms that conservatives, not liberals, were targeted.

Oops! Really the truth isn't the issue here. The Left wanted to get the misinformation out and repeated by the synchophants so the low information voter will hear the headline and say "See, this is all BS." Misinformation is one of their tactics. These days they don't even care about hiding the lies, so long as they get widely reported. I must admit that the tactic has been working for them sadly.

I don't really see the problem. It's only a 48.6:1 ratio of conservative groups to liberal groups. Clearly the IG is a racist obstructionist CEO only out to crush the little guy and collect his obscene bonuses.

And totally miss the point that it shouldn't happen at all.

FBI Has Yet To Contact IRS-Targeted Tea Party Groups

On May 14, the FBI claimed they launched an investigation into the IRS fiasco. FBI Director Robert Mueller was famously told Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio on June 13 that

at the Bureau spearheading the effort. That’s almost a month into the alleged investigation. This is a national story. It’s a major scandal – and you don’t know who the point guy, or gal, that’s tasked with getting to the bottom of this debacle?

Joe Schoffstall at CNS News reported on July 2 a disturbing development in this case. There’s virtually no FBI investigation. In fact, the FBI has yet to contact any of the groups targeted by the IRS.

Cleta Mitchell, an attorney representing nine tea party groups who were targeted by the IRS, told CNSNews.com that she has not heard from the FBI regarding the case and questions whether an investigation is actually underway.

“I have no reason to believe there is an investigation. It appears to me the Obama administration is only talking to itself,” Mitchell stated in an e-mail.

Mitchell and her clients are far from the only ones who are still left in the dark.

American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) Executive Director Jordan Sekulow, whose organization now
41 tea party groups in a case against the IRS, told CNSNews.com that they, too, are waiting to hear anything pertaining to the investigation.

“To date, none of our clients or any of our attorneys has been contacted by the FBI. The Director continues to assert that this is a priority for the Bureau, but at this point, there’s little evidence to suggest that this probe is on the fast track,” Mr. Sekulow wrote. “There has been no contact with any of the 41 conservative organizations we represent – the real victims of this IRS targeting scheme. Our expanded lawsuit continues to move forward.”

THOMAS LIFSON ON THE IRS SCANDALS:

The Treasury Department on Wednesday refused to confirm or deny the existence of an inspector general report investigating whether or not former White House economic adviser Austan Goolsbee illegally accessed tax information on the Koch brothers.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by the Washington Free Beacon, declined to acknowledge the existence of the report.

“With regard to your request for documents pertaining to a third party, TIGTA can neither admit nor deny the existence of responsive records,” said in its response. “Your request seeks access to the types of documents for which there is no public interest that outweighs the privacy interests established and protected by the FOIA (5 U.S.C. §§ 552(b)(7)© and (b)(6)).”

Former White House Council of Economic Advisers chairman Austan Goolsbee sparked a mini-scandal in 2010 when he told reporters during a background press briefing that Koch Industries-the company of libertarian philanthropists Charles and David Koch-paid no income taxes.

The American public deserves answers on this potentially serious scandal.

Well, I can't imagine how the public interest in a report showing a complete partisan abuse of power would outweigh the government's interest in keeping such a report showing a complete partisan abuse of power secret.

IRS Hearing Will Pit D.C. Officials Against Cincinnati Agent

By Eliana Johnson

Thursday’s Oversight Committee hearing on the IRS’s targeting of tea-party groups is likely to be a showdown between Internal Revenue Service officials based in Washington, D.C. and a Cincinnati agent who accused them of micromanaging her work. Oversight Committee chairman Darrell Issa is calling Washington lawyers Carter Hull and Steven Grodnitzky as well as a Cincinnati-based agent, Elizabeth Hofacre, to testify on Thursday, according to a congressional source.

In her interview with committee investigators, Hofacre accused Hull of micromanaging her processing of tea-party applications from Washington. “I was essentially a front person,” she said, “because I had no autonomy or no authority to act on them without Carter Hull’s influence or input.” Hull also appears to have caused some of the delays experienced by tea-party groups who applied for tax exemption. According to Hofacre, she eventually stopped receiving feedback from him and, as a result, tea-party groups stopped getting responses from her as their applications languished on his desk.

Hopefully the WH, DOJ and Organizing for America can get the Travonites burning stuff down by Thursday so no one will pay attention to this either.

IRS CHIEF COUNSEL INVOLVED IN TARGETING CONTROVERSY:

The chief counsel’s office for the Internal Revenue Service, headed by a political appointee of President Obama, helped develop the agency’s problematic guidelines for reviewing “tea party” cases, according to a top IRS attorney.

In interviews with congressional investigators,
IRS lawyer Carter Hull said his superiors told him that the chief counsel’s office, led by William Wilkins, would need to review applications that the agency had screened for additional scrutiny because of potential political activity.

Previous accounts from IRS employees had shown that Washington IRS officials were involved in the controversy, but Hull’s comments represent the closest connection to the White House to date.

Hearings are tomorrow..........................

Black panthers are ok. They inherently cannot be evil or hateful as they are victims of the system, therfore its our duty to allow them to continue to intimidate anyone they chose who happens to not be a black democrat outside of polling places in cities like Philadelphia. If you have a problem with this you are obviously an evil racist and are probably thinking of commiting a hate crime by daring to question this double standard and deserve to burn in hell. You probably don't like skittles either.
