Beastly Dareus Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I liked both Eric Moulds and Lee Evans. I strongly believe Evans was under valued by many Bills fans. However, Moulds was definitely a better all around receiver. Not even close.

Moulds was definitely the better receiver but Evans was a solid contributor during our worst quarterbacking years. He wasn't the best starting receiver but he was a really good second.
Rico Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 EM80 vs AR83 is a better comparison. Obviously I say Reed but I think it's a lot closer than most would want to admit Here's another comparison: pre-injury, JB80 > EM80.
Lurker Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Here's another comparison: pre-injury, JB80 > EM80. Too bad the body of work pre-injury was so limited...http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/ButlJe00.htm
Billsrhody Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Too bad Evans was on bad teams for his whole career... He had some serious talent. But yea.. Moulds
FleaMoulds80 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Well, you can go ahead and crunch the numbers if you like. But your claim above is categorically false. We did not throw the ball just as many times then as we do now--particularly when you look at passes as percentage of plays. But whatever. WTF are you talking about? Just look at the number of pass attempts. Not really a difficult concept to grasp.
Prickly Pete Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 (edited) Which do you think was better? Why are you asking this? It's insulting to Eric Moulds, a great player that had his talents wasted in a career playing for an inept organization. Edited May 7, 2013 by Marauder'sMicro
marauderswr80 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Neither had reached their full potential due to the qb play
Captain Hindsight Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Moulds and it isnt close. Evans was a decent player and would have been a good reciever with better QB play, but Moulds was good with alot of garbage here
Numark Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I went to make some jokes about this, but I see each of my ideas has already been said..... on my way
keepthefaith Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Lee Evans has JP Losman to thank for whatever success he had.
RalphOP83 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 (edited) Stevie is the only receiver in bills history with back to back 1000yd seasons. So saying moulds was close to 5 consecutive 1000 yd seasons is false. Edited May 7, 2013 by RalphOP83
Peter Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 There is now comparison. Moulds was one of our best WRs who ran all of the routes including going over the middle. Evans - not so much.
Dragonborn10 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Lee Evans, Buffalo stats: 109 games, 377 receptions, 5,934 yards, 43 TDs. Eric Moulds, Buffalo stats: 154 games, 675 receptions, 9,096 yards, 49 TDs. One of the most important stats not listed...for the last few years of his career Eric Moulds was the last player playing in the NFL that caught a TD pass from JK. Moulds was far more dominant. Evans TD rate was much higher though so maybe the gap between the two is not as great as we all think. And I would argue his QB's were far worse than Moulds.
