This got viral last week. It looks like she's taking a selfie through instagram, which means she's likely using a smartphone, which means it's likely the laces wouldn't appear, unless some dude hit a 400 foot knuckler...

 

And also, at what trajectory would the ball have to be travelling to pass through that plane without hitting her...?

I was gonna say real. I'd prefer fake but I think they are real.

 

As far as the photoshopped baseball? Look in the background. No fans in the stands. Not a single person on the field. Yup, must be real. Someone threw a ball up at her head from the building down the street.
