Last year i went to week 1 against the Jets thinking Buf would compete but im going to tone it back this year.

Realistically the bills should be able to compete with the panthers, browns, chiefs, bucs, and jags. Jets and dolphins could be potential toss ups, especially if Ryan Tannehill faces a sophomore slump and the qb circus continues in New Jersey. They could upset a couple of the better teams along the way or lose to the aforementioned weaker teams.

That being said I think 8-8 would be an accomplishment.

It is hard to tell. I think we win more games than last year, just because I think the defense will be way better than last year, even if these are the LBs we go into the season with. Offense, I am not sure if it will be better or not, but I am not expecting to get worse. I think saying they will finish 8-8 or higher isn't a crazy thought. There is a lot of potential with this team, we just don't know how much of that potential will actually be met.

It's kinda early for predictions, especially since we may pick up another veteran FA or two. But I don't think we will be much better than last year. It would be nice to finish strong, but I think there will be growing pains with a new QB and what's essentially a new receiving corps. Probably finish around .500, give or take a game..

I am in total show me the baby mode after last season.....that said

- I disagree that we don't have a proven QB.....I don't care what anybody says Kevin Kolb IS better then Ryan Fitzpatrick....he is accurate and perfectly suited for this offense....the reason why say this is even though EJ Manuel has every tool you could possibly want he is STILL a rookie and Kolb gives EJ the opportunity to not have to start immediately and ease into the offense. Now for all the strengths of Kevin Kolb his weakness is what will eventually give EJ his "in" as the starting QB of the team at some point....his inability to stay healthy will force him to give way to EJ Manuel who will then have the reins from that point forward.......which actually is a good scenario. We also have Taveris Jackson so we have a nice mix of QB experience and future potential.

- People act like we are starting from scratch at wide out.....were not.....Stevie Johnson is still the number 1 of this team with multiple 1000 yard seasons......what we are trying to do is find him a running mate (or mates) that can take pressure off of him and we did that with the all time leading receiver of USC Robert Woods.....at the very least Robert takes pressure off Stevie and at the very best you have a Eric Moulds/Peerless Price situation here

- Lets also keep in mind that we come into this season with what were the strengths of the team on offense....the running game and the offensive line.....with only the LG spot in question. We have had years where our whole OL has been in question. Glenn was solid last year as the blind side protector and he is only going to get better.

I truly think that the REAL problem of this team last year (I know the whole thing looked like a hot mess but it all stemmed from this one thing).....our DEFENSE.....and particularly our DEFENSIVE COACHING

If Pettine can fix this (and there is no reason to believe that he cant....he has done it on 2 different other teams RECENTLY) then that affects the whole team......because the offense will have the ball more.....and not be playing from behind.

I'm with you, John, on all points.

This said, I won't fall victim to guessing W/L records before the Season, as I have every year. The Bills have FINALLY melted my blind enthusiasm as their 'whatever bad thing Could happen, will' mantra is who they are this century.

Hoping to be overjoyed. Not expecting to.

Its pretty tough to predict, some new coaches can come in and cause immediate change, while some need a few years. Given our roster though I definitely think we should be able to make it to 8-8...or more if we catch some lucky breaks.

right now we are the 24th worst team in a 32 team league all the other teams like their off season moves as well if we start the season with ej at QB we will be 5-11. if kolb starts and we ease in ej we might get to 8-8. 2-4 in the afc least

I don't know if Doug Marrone and his staff are going to be good, but I know they will be better than last years staff. In fifty some odd years of watching football I have never seen more inexplicable decision than that staff made last year. Do you need to be reminded? Seriously, stop and think about it for a second. As idiotic and inept as they were they still managed six wins. How could this staff do worse?

Do you think the personnel is worse? Why because we lost a guard? Who other than Levitre could possibly be missed? Is anyone going to miss Fitzpatrick? Kolb or Manuel have to be better. Nelson and Jones vs. all these new guys? New guys can't be worse. Do you find yourself longing for Barnett and Wilson?

Their record will be better than last year. They will at the very least be fun to watch, instead of painful.

Without even seeing them in camp much less anything else, I'm not ready to put numbers on the upcoming season.

But I expect Kolb to start, the new WRs to improve during the season, and coaching to improve on both sides of the ball.

I expect this to be a rebuilding year where the team improves every week, then 2014 I want to see the baby.

pettine will make the defense way better and marone will make offense better just by playing the best players.

"The best players will play"

I and all of bills nation were pissed with the way chan mismanaged the talent of the offense! mainly CJ spiller and Fitz.

11-5

I am ecstatic about this season. No Pickspatrick, more speed on offense, some attitude on defense. I haven't felt this great about us for a long time.

One wonders what new and marvelous nicknames will be crafted should the historically superior interception-hurling prowess of TJax and Kolb be forced upon the denizens of this board

16-0

Senator? That you?

Well, now that Mel Kiper gave us the lowest grade in the draft.... 0-16... Actually, I'm cautiously optimistic for a winning record but not playoffs this year.
