Boludo Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Lindell can't go on forever! http://miamiherald.typepad.com/florida-state/2012/09/ej-manuel-dustin-hopkins-deliver-hope-in-dying-boys-final-hours.html Probably close with EJ and will help EJ settle in.
Kirby Jackson Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Love the pick...6th rounders have nowhere near the impact of a kicker
FluffHead Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 (edited) I was kind of banging the table for this guy pre draft. He was the best kicker in college football with a huge leg. Lindell is done in by this pick Edited April 27, 2013 by FluffHead
KeisterHollow Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 He kicked a 60 yard FG in the spring of last year. His MO is he's got a strong leg. Ranked by WalterFootball as 2nd best kicker - although they said they wouldn't be surprised if he were the first taken, on account of his STRONG leg and touchback potential. Sounds like a good pick, yet again. (Doubt they would've taken him had other kickers not come off the board already - must be they were prioritizing getting a replacement in for Lindell, as was evidenced by last year's attempt)
OldTimer1960 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Agreed, if he wins the kicking job he will likely have more impact than anybody else they could have picked in round 6 (yes, there are some great 6th round picks like Tom Brady, but by and large the odds of finding someone who makes your team for even a few years are pretty long).
Alphadawg7 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Good, a top K here will have way more value then some likely cut or ST player we would have most likely grabbed. I know players can be found this late, but its rare. We need a Kicker IMO as Lindell doesnt have the leg anymore and the kid we took last year did not impress at all
Hazed and Amuzed Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Love this pick. Anyone else who's ever watched him kick off notice his strange little trot before kicking the ball?
jtf1444 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 I like it, in some of the scouting reports it said he could go as early as the 5th and was the best kicker in the draft. at least now we dont have to punt instead of going for a 50 yard fg.
NoSaint Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Love the pick...6th rounders have nowhere near the impact of a kicker Like it a lot too.... Though he's no Brady!
BuffaloBillsMagic1 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Has to be our guy from day one. Needed.
DrDawkinstein Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Big leg, and accurate. Great value in the 6th.
NickelCity Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Love love LOVE this pick. Exactly who I wanted. Big impact for a late pick too. Awesome.
Big Turk Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Starting field position is worth more in points than virtually anything else statistically speaking over the course of a season...makes sense
OCinBuffalo Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Piss and moan all you want, but he was BPA with a 69.5 draft grade, when he was drafted. In fact, as I write, he is the highest rated player drafted this round.
Buffalo Destroyers! Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 So now we have the punter and kicker from FSU?
