right?!? But our picks are horrible.

Based on an arbitrary list by some pundit who thought Nassib was going to be the first QB taken.

Source? I'd like to evaluate the credibility

Notice that half of that "reach" list are defensive backs. Probably because it's harder to get film on those guys since cameras aren't watching them.

Real coaches film shows the entire field (or most of it) so you can see what everyone is doing. What people watch on YouTube isn't close to what actual film is.

This is how stupid CBS is, case closed.

Per their own website:

He has an extremely strong leg and ended his workout by kicking a 50-yard field goal. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

41.35% touchback percentage in 2012.

Their draft analysis of Hopkins:

"The special teams run continues! Hopkins is an accurate kicker whose leg strength is very iffy for kickoffs, and who could have trouble punching the ball through Buffalo's swirling winds."

So either their draft analyst is a moron or Gil Brandt is a liar.

I am starting to suspect draft grades for lesser players are generated at random by a computer jumbling cliches.

So true! ESPN gave us an F grade for selecting EJ at number 16, but would have no doubt given us an A had we chosen either of 3 QBs no one else wanted until the 3rd or 4th rounds!

Listening to Gil Brandt on Sirius I would say he far from amoron . But. He is getting up there in years. Reminds me of Van Millet.

I dont think he's a liar either.

As PTR said, its the draft analysis cliche robot, it was probably programmed by a moron!

Patriots.... -322 hehehe.

If Belichick had his way Rutgers would have more players picked than Alabama.

Of the 40 or so Bills drafts i've observed this is the first time im not optomistic. Very confused and disappointed. I hope im wrong

Considering how most of those 40 drafts turned out, this might be cause for optimism.

As with every draft, we're at least 2-3 years from being able to make a reasonable assessment. Discussing 'value' and 'reach' is silly, and downright absurd when discussing day 3 picks.

Of course it's silly. These reach/value assessments are based on rankings made by people who don't actually scout and coach football players for living, but rather play one on an Internet web site!

Really, once the draft is over, how much does it matter when a player was picked. You should rate the draft based on the sum of who was picked and how they help your team.
