hondo in seattle Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I asked this question before the draft but it takes on new meaning now.
maverick544 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 (edited) Hey that is a pitty vote for Corp! Edited April 26, 2013 by maverick544
mrags Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I voted Manuel but wouldn't mind Kolb. Actually I'd like it. Would show Kolb plays well in offseason and maybe we can pull off a Drew Bree's type of move with him in SD.
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I suspect Kolb will *start* on opening day. Manuel's biggest knock is that he needs coaching, and time to learn a new system. Kolb already has more time to practice the system and is more polished a passer so I think our man right now. Who our starter is if, true to form, Kolb gets injured some time during the season? I have no doubt Manuel can learn.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I say go all in with EJ let him learn in game situation unless the coaches don't think he's anywhere near ready.
ganesh Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Another good poll will be: Will the Bills draft another QB in the lower rounds now that they have an additional 7th Rounder.
BuffBill Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 With this pick, and not Nassib or Smith, I think that is a telling sign that Kolb will start most of if not all year. Although he probably has more of an upside then any QB in the draft, is might be least ready to start right away in the NFL. Only time will tell folks.
CodeMonkey Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 In the presser after the pick Nix and Marrone both referred to Manuel as a project. Nix even used that word. I think it will be Kolb this season while Marrone works on his project.
ALF Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 The bills are rebuilding so give EJ plenty of time to develop. Let's see how the OL is without Levitre, need another WR and TE .
Brainiac21 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 i'm sure Jackson would love to know he is tied with Aaron Corp.
maddenboy Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Listen. All indications are that the Bills wanted E.J. all along. Praise Jeezus (see my sig). So, everybody knows Kolb is not an NFL starting qb. So why sign him? Exactly for this reason. We want E.J., who needs some seasoning. So lets bring in a journeyman who can start a few games while EJ gets ready. Praise Jeezus.
Captain Hindsight Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Hey that is a pitty vote for Corp! Corp needs no pity. He is a BEAST!
FleaMoulds80 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 EJ Manuel better sit his rookie year or we'll ruin another QB.
NoSaint Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Tough call - you want to say EJ, but i think itll be a much tougher decision. itd be nice to give him time, and kolb isnt a total bum.
KD in CA Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Aaron who? I'm not sure, but I heard he converted to an LLC.
hondo in seattle Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 (edited) I wonder if the success of rookie QBs last year alters the way Marrone looks at rookies. I expect Kolb to start, but wouldn't be shocked to see Manuel under center against the Pats. Curious that at this point Corp has more votes than TJax. Edited April 26, 2013 by hondo in seattle
Luxy312 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Personally, I think Kolb will start initially. Now if their record is 1-3 or 0-4 after 4 weeks and Kolb is sucking, I think we'll see Manuel. Not out of the gates though.
B-Large Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Kolb Starts. Bring Manuel in on some designed plays to give him some game expereince. If the season is done by Halloween, bring Manuel in for a waterdowned playbook and a run heavy offense to easy him into full game mode. If Kolb get hurt early, I a not sure... maybe TJax in an effort to not rusk the rook, but then again, if the season is shot as mentioned above what difference does it make?
