Best Player Available
This sucks. Larry was a friend of my parents, a stand up guy.A true Bills fan, with a style of writing that is now sadly extinct. RIP Larry

bbb
Loved Larry. I was worried that he wasn't doing well - not hearing him as a guest on the radio, etc. Loved his column, esp. the "opinionated days" - and his Monday Evening Quarterback with John Murphy on WBEN during the Glory Days (as Larry so wisely pointed out we were in at the time) was the best football show ever on Buffalo radio. Chandler#81
Oh my GoD! Shocked and so sorry to learn this. Thank you, Larry, for a lifetime of quality sports reporting. You'll be missed!
I_want_2_BILL_Lieve
"It's one of those opinionated days" I loved how he was able to use his knowledge of the original days of the AFL in his later writings, comparing then and now. transient
Sad day for the Buffalo News and Buffalo sports fans. Hopefully reflecting on his previous work and style of writing will lead to some of the current writers to make an honest assessment of what the News's sports coverage has been lacking for some time - objective, well written pieces without unnecessary provocation. Sad that his death reminds me not only of why I used to read the Buffalo News, but also why I now rarely do. RIP. You have been, and will continue to be, sorely missed. Chump Change
Major bummer. I loved reading Larry's column as a boy growing up. He and Vic Carrucci are Buffalo's two finest sports writers ever. May he RIP. Edited April 24, 2013 by Chump Change

Kelly the Dog
This is actually depressing me. Yeah, really a big part of my childhood. He was extremely nice to me personally for a short time for no reason in the early 80s. Really good man.

Green Lightning
Class act. Tough when he had to be but wasn't relentlessly negative like the new breed. I grew up reading him. He will be missed. Thanks Larry.
