Loved Larry. I was worried that he wasn't doing well - not hearing him as a guest on the radio, etc.

Loved his column, esp. the "opinionated days" - and his Monday Evening Quarterback with John Murphy on WBEN during the Glory Days (as Larry so wisely pointed out we were in at the time) was the best football show ever on Buffalo radio.

Sad day for the Buffalo News and Buffalo sports fans.

Hopefully reflecting on his previous work and style of writing will lead to some of the current writers to make an honest assessment of what the News's sports coverage has been lacking for some time - objective, well written pieces without unnecessary provocation.

Sad that his death reminds me not only of why I used to read the Buffalo News, but also why I now rarely do. RIP. You have been, and will continue to be, sorely missed.

Major bummer. I loved reading Larry's column as a boy growing up. He and Vic Carrucci are Buffalo's two finest sports writers ever. May he RIP.
