mitchmurraydowntown Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 (edited) My post: Rumor: Interesting plan has been formed' date=' the Bills are going to try and force the Jets to package their picks & move up in the draft. The theory is they won't draft a QB in the first if they only have 1 pick but now they might if they have 2 like they do now. You'll start to hear about the Bills interest in Milliner or some teams interest ahead of us, anything to get the Jets back to one 1st round pick. We also would like to tradeback for extra picks, then draft a QB (Nassib). Go Bills !![/quote'] Chris Brown's link on this, which is very close to what I said last night: http://blogs.buffalo...ms-less-likely/ CB's post: The Bills spend the last few days prior to the draft mapping out potential scenarios of what could happen in front and behind them in the draft. Those exercises will have a different look to them following the Jets trade of Darrelle Revis over the weekend.Buffalo was very open to the idea of trading down from their spot at 8. But with a division rival now armed with a pair of picks right behind them at 9 and 13 and potentially using one on a quarterback it seems less likely that Buffalo would want to risk moving behind them in round one. BringBackFergy Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Yeah the Bills is really scaring the Jets. Don't make me laugh. P.S. J-E-T-S Jets JEts JETS. Jimmy!!!! Where youz been bro?? Say bye bye to Revis...too bad the Jests couldn't get Sanchise packaged in that deal. Oh well, good seeing you again big guy. How's work release been going?
eball Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 This reminds me of that one episode of Green Acres when Mr Haney cons Mr. Douglas into buying a broken down hay wagon. You sure it isn't like that one episode of Three's Company where there's a misuderstanding that somehow gives rise to sexual innuendo?
BrooklynBills Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I just don't see the Jets using those picks to move up in the first round. They have a new GM and Rex was forced on him. I think they will take BPA at both spots and look to next year. I just don't see a player that they could possibly covet so much in the top ten.

Rich Cimini (who covers the Jets for ESPN New York) was on the SiriusXM NFL channel this morning as I was coming into work; he surmised the Jets will probably go pass rusher at #9 (Mingo), and perhaps Tavon Austin at #13. He didn't mention a packaging of picks to move up, and thought drafting a QB was unlikely. FWIW.
thebandit27 Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 For whatever it's worth, Rich Cimini just tweeted this: Rich Cimini Jets have sent out word they're interested in trading down to accumulate extra picks, per source. Sound strategy.

thebandit27 Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Yep, and it doesn't contradict his earlier comments on the radio. Agreed...although I do think it makes a trade-up for Austin more likely...I'm looking at you Minnesota and St. Louis. I sincerely doubt either team will give up both firsts though, maybe a 1st/2nd this year and a 3rd next year
boyst Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 That would be County Agent Hank Kimball… or is it County Kimball Hank Agent? Well, I'll just look at my name tag… huh, it's upside down… our extension agent is a carbon copy of that dude

Any team taking a QB not named Geno Smith in the top 15 picks is going to be laughed and mocked at by almost everyone in the NFL world. This QB class is highly suspect. The Jets have no intention of taking a QB this year. They're waiting till 2014 when they have a newly hired head coach and they will choose his QB after looking for and getting a horrible 2013 season just like the Colts did a couple years ago.
