uncle flap Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 FWIW: On defense when the Bills went in to 3-4 looks, Marcell Dareus played nose tackle a majority of the time. Alan Branch and Alex Carrington played the ends beside him, while Mario Williams was an outside linebacker. At left guard, first team reps were split between Chris Scott and Sam Young. Some fans have asked about Zebrie Sanders moving to guard, but Marrone said he sees the former fifth-round pick as a tackle first and a guard second. http://www.wgr550.com/Bills-Marrone-stressing-tempo-at-practices/16084776 However, keep in mind that Kyle was not on the field.
NoSaint Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 What about 1) qb of choice 2) tank carradine 3) da'rick Rogers You do realize though that this is the defensive analog to drafting Chance Warmack? I don't want either but.... Guard almost never changes the numbers game - a nt can command a double team leaving the D +1 consistently.

It would be hard to overstate the effect of one of the elite space eaters. Of course at any one time there are only 3-4 of them in the league which also underscores the idea that they're a nice luxury to have but not necessary for defensive success.

In that respect, you can get by with an average one, similar to a guard.
Dr. Fong Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Pass rushers are among the hardest position to fill in the NFL. Probably only behind QB. So no matter how set a team may be at the position there is always room to add another.
