SWVABillsFan
Many made and I hope there will be more. My favorite is Crimson Tide though hard to go against The Hunt For Red October.
mrags
Crimson tide is really good but I'd also like to throw in the one with Deniro and Gooding Jr. More of a dice movie but really good. Name escapes me ATM.

We Come In Peace
Excellent topic! My list: 1. Hunt for Red October 2. Das Boot 3. Crimson Tide 4. U571 (I know) 5. Down Periscope (Thank you for reminding me Jboyst, good call) But I'd put the Abyss at 2 if I could finangle that into being considered a submarine movie. Just Jack
But I'd put the Abyss at 2 if I could finangle that into being considered a submarine movie. Well, part of the story is about recovering equipment from a sub.
SWVABillsFan
If you can get "Shaodw Divers" (about 4 to 5 cd's) and "Hitler's "Lost Sub" any sub junkie like myself will enjoy.
We Come In Peace
Well, part of the story is about recovering equipment from a sub. Good point. And the first scene is ON a sub. Hmmm... I think it counts!

bbb
Red October is so much better than Crimson Tide........And, seeing it in '88 (I believe) when the Cold War was still going on made it that much better.
