Going back ten years (1994 - 2004 inclusive) the Bills had 105 draft picks, 14 of which were offensive linemen:

04/McFarland, T, #7

03/Sobieski, G, #5

02/Williams, T, #1 and Pucillo, G, #7

01/Jennings, T, #3 and Sullivan, G, #5 (2nd of two 3rd rnd picks)

00/none

99/none

98/Hicks, T, #3, and Allotoy, G, #7

97/Nails. G, #4, and Spriggs, T, #6

96/Zeigler, C, #6

95/Brown, G, #1 and Nutten, G, #7

94/Loucheiy, G, #3 (2nd of two 3rd rnd picks)

I wonder how the Bill's compare to other clubs about drafting OL, and if some tend to use higher picks.

Of course, many variables exist - needs, FA, etc.

I'm not going to do that level of research, but I do know six teams teams started rookies on the OL this year: Raiders, Chargers, Panthers, Cardinals, Titans, Dolphins.

All 3 were drafted in the second round of this years draft and starting by the end of the year. At some point you have to commit to using your first three draft rounds to upgrading the trenches. After all, that is where the games are won and lost!

I'd do if if I were one of the idle rich... :)

My draft tendencies are towards building and keeping a good o/l - a house needs a good foundation etc.

And the Bills have failed miserably in building a solid O-line.

I can't believe they let Nutten go.
