stuckincincy Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 Going back ten years (1994 - 2004 inclusive) the Bills had 105 draft picks, 14 of which were offensive linemen: 04/McFarland, T, #7 03/Sobieski, G, #5 02/Williams, T, #1 and Pucillo, G, #7 01/Jennings, T, #3 and Sullivan, G, #5 (2nd of two 3rd rnd picks) 00/none 99/none 98/Hicks, T, #3, and Allotoy, G, #7 97/Nails. G, #4, and Spriggs, T, #6 96/Zeigler, C, #6 95/Brown, G, #1 and Nutten, G, #7 94/Loucheiy, G, #3 (2nd of two 3rd rnd picks) I wonder how the Bill's compare to other clubs about drafting OL, and if some tend to use higher picks. Of course, many variables exist - needs, FA, etc.
Terry Tate Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 I wonder how the Bill's compare to other clubs about drafting OL, and if some tend to use higher picks. 199198 I'm not going to do that level of research, but I do know six teams teams started rookies on the OL this year: Raiders, Chargers, Panthers, Cardinals, Titans, Dolphins. Rd 1 Raiders-RT-Gallery Rd 2 No starters Rd 3 Chargers-C-Hardwick Panthers-LG-Wharton Rd 4 Cardinals-C-Stepanovich Rd 5 Titans-LG-Bell Rd 6 Dolphins-RG-Hadnot Rd 7 Chargers-RT-Olivea
LabattBlue Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 NYG Snee OAK Grove SF Smiley All 3 were drafted in the second round of this years draft and starting by the end of the year. At some point you have to commit to using your first three draft rounds to upgrading the trenches. After all, that is where the games are won and lost!
stuckincincy Posted January 9, 2005 Author Posted January 9, 2005 I'm not going to do that level of research, 199232 I'd do if if I were one of the idle rich... My draft tendencies are towards building and keeping a good o/l - a house needs a good foundation etc.
