BuffaloBill Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 What is this going to do to her body as she ages? That is nuts.
Beerball Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 One of the news channels did a piece on her a couple weekends ago. Quite a story, nicely done.
Just Jack Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 One of the news channels did a piece on her a couple weekends ago. Quite a story, nicely done. I heard about it on the radio, thought it was cool, even without the charity angle.
Drifter Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 It's an outstanding acomplishment. The grind on your body is tough, but preparing mentally for the marathon is just as hard. I admire her for keeping her focus for 52 straight weeks, that is no small feat.
Steve O Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Can't believe that is healthy...actually I can't believe even doing one is. While training for one my brother had a heart attack at 19.9 miles of a 20 mile training run a few years ago (he survived)
DC Tom Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Can't believe that is healthy...actually I can't believe even doing one is. While training for one my brother had a heart attack at 19.9 miles of a 20 mile training run a few years ago (he survived) Generally it's not. Unless you're a genetic freak like this guy, at her age a marathon a week will break a body down faster than it can recover. Which honestly makes it that much more impressive an achievement. But she's going to pay a price. And yes.
