judman Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Thanks to Bucky Brooks for the kick to the nuts. 2011 Draft Redo
26CornerBlitz Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Thanks to Bucky Brooks for the kick to the nuts. 2011 Draft Redo As discussed ad nauseum, the real Redo should be the 2nd round. Kaepernick over Aaron Williams.
Green Lightning Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 You can spend your life either looking bacward or forward. Time to move on.
Tsaikotic Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 seeings Kapernick would still be there in rd2..if I had to redo and take a different pick, then i would have gone with A.J.Green or J.J. Watt...then grab Kap in rd2...who was our rd2 pick again??
Saint Doug Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I scratch my head at the Mallet and Yates picks. Really?
Dibs Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Thanks to Bucky Brooks for the kick to the nuts. 2011 Draft Redo Interestingly he had Dareus going at #13.
1B4IDie Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Bucky Brooks needs a redo on that article and almost everyone he writes. It would be JJ Watt anyway.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Thanks to Bucky Brooks for the kick to the nuts. 2011 Draft Redo Could have got Kaeper in the second and JJ Watt in the first, now that's areal kick in the nuts.
Rico Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 12) Minnesota Vikings Pick: Christian Ponder, QB Do-over: Ryan Mallett, QB
Captain Hindsight Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Has Mallet even taken a snap in the regualr season? Ponder is a playoff QB (sorta)
DanInUticaTampa Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 You can spend your life either looking bacward or forward. Time to move on. I don't know, looking forward looks pretty scary. Too much unknown, and with our luck, unknown isn't good.
jahnyc Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 The 2009 draft redo is worse. Elliot Harrison from NFL.com has us taking Orakpo instead of Maybin. Many of us wanted Orakpo in that draft.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 ....Ponder is a playoff QB (sorta) Only because he hands the ball off effectively. I get your point though. We don't know any more now about mallet than we did in 2011...

JPS Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 You can spend your life either looking bacward or forward. Time to move on. +1.
Webster Guy Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 To everyone on this board who says "hey that's in the past" or "time to move on" every time one of us looks at previous drafts and says WHAT IF, please hear my plea: 1. We talk plenty about the current state of the team and future picks. 95% percent or more it's all we talk about. 2. The current state of our team can get boring, (especially OUR team's current state) 3. Some of us enjoy the What If Scenario's for the same reason some of like to think of how our lives would be different if we married that ex girlfriend, chose a different career or invented a time machine to go back and tell Norwood to aim a tad left. 4. Revisiting drafts is intriguing. Why did everyone (including Seattle) pass on Russel Wilson those first two rounds, what did Buddy see in TJ Graham that he liked better than Wilson's potential, what would our team look like if we took AJ Green and Kap instead of Dareus and Aaron Williams. I like thinking about those scenarios. The ability to judge college talent and how it will translate to NFL is probably the hardest thing in all of sports. Sometimes the very best player in the country won't even have a job in two years. Its interesting. Don't worry, the front office is focused on the future. If you insist on doing the same then don't click on the links that discuss previous drafts.
K D Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I'm not even going to read this. I'm sure it will just make me mad. Every draft for as long as I can remember I end up flipping out and throwing something. Then I try and calm down and think well the guys at OBD do this for a living so surely they see something the rest of us don't see and their pick is going to pan out. Silly me...

I was screaming at the TV when they didn't announce orakpo. Would have been nice to have him with Mario, Darues and Kyle
