boyst Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Got my girlfriend to watch Vision Quest with me. She's never seen it. It always amazed me how great this soundtrack is, but are there any better encapsulates its era? Every one of these songs is the perfect 80's type song, from Dio, Journey and REO to Madonna. Also, Forrest Whitaker was in this movie. Journey - Only The Young Dio - Hungry for Heaven Sammy Hagar - I'll Fall In Love Again Foreigner - Hot Blooded REO Speedwagon - Time For Me To Fly Madonna - Gambler -This movie was her first cameo on film Madonna - Crazy For You Red Rider - Lunatic Fringe Jon Waite - Change Style Council - Shout To The Top Don Henley - She's On The Zoom I am sure there are a ton of great soundtracks, so name a few...
ajzepp Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 That's easily one of the most nostalgic films for me...really takes me back. You're right, that's a great soundtrack!
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I am a big fan if movie score soundtracks. James newton Howard soundtracks from m night shylamans movies are awesome..eg, unbreakable and signs. Thomas Newman's shawshank redemption soundtrack is a classic. I also love bill conti's karate kid and rocky scores. The karate kid one is sold as a limited edition.
mrags Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I believe the Iron Man 2 soundtrack is basically just a compellation of ACDC tunes. It's got quite a bit in there.
The Poojer Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 In college that movie was my girlfriends and my movie mainly because of the music.....

DrDawkinstein Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 (edited) It's a bit dated since it came out in 1993, but nothing will ever beat the soundtrack for Judgement Night. The combination of popular rock/metal bands with rap bands was huge back then. This was before nu-metal. No. Title Artists Length 1. "Just Another Victim" Helmet and House of Pain 4:23 2. "Fallin'" Teenage Fanclub and De La Soul 4:28 3. "Me, Myself, & My Microphone" Living Colour and Run DMC 3:10 4. "Judgment Night" Biohazard and Onyx 4:35 5. "Disorder" (Medley of 3 Exploited songs: "War", "UK '82", and "Disorder") Slayer and Ice-T 4:58 6. "Another Body Murdered" Faith No More and Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. 4:24 7. "I Love You Mary Jane" Sonic Youth and Cypress Hill 3:52 8. "Freak Momma" Mudhoney and Sir Mix-A-Lot 4:00 9. "Missing Link" Dinosaur Jr. and Del tha Funkee Homosapien 3:59 10. "Come & Die" Therapy? and Fatal 4:27 11. "Real Thing" Pearl Jam and Cypress Hill 3:33 After that, I'd say the soundtracks to both Crow movies... "Burn" - The Cure (Robert Smith, Simon Gallup, Boris Williams, Perry Bamonte) – 6:39 "Golgotha Tenement Blues" - Machines of Loving Grace (Scott Benzel, Mike Fisher, Stuart Kupers, Brad Kemp) – 4:01 "Big Empty" - Stone Temple Pilots (Dean DeLeo, Scott Weiland) – 4:56 "Dead Souls" - Nine Inch Nails (Joy Division) – 4:54 "Darkness (Of Greed)" - Rage Against the Machine (Rage Against the Machine) – 3:41 "Color Me Once" - Violent Femmes (Gordon Gano, Brian Ritchie) – 4:09 "Ghostrider" - Rollins Band (Suicide) (Martin Rev, Alan Vega) – 5:45 "Milktoast" (also known as "Milquetoast") - Helmet (Page Nye Hamilton) – 3:59 "The Badge" - Pantera (Poison Idea) – 3:54* "Slip Slide Melting" - For Love Not Lisa (For Love Not Lisa) – 5:47 "After the Flesh" - My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult (Buzz McCoy, Groovie Mann) – 2:59 "Snakedriver" - The Jesus and Mary Chain (William Reid, Jim Reid) – 3:41 "Time Baby II" - Medicine (Jim Goodall, Brad Laner, Jim Putnam, Ed Ruscha, Beth Thompson) – 3:52 "It Can't Rain All the Time" - Jane Siberry (Graeme Revell, Jane Siberry) – 5:34 The sequel doesnt have a pasteable listing, so here's a link: http://en.wikipedia....ls_(soundtrack) Edited April 7, 2013 by DrDareustein
shrader Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I don't know if a single person (myself included) has ever seen the movie, but the Singles soundtrack is about as good as it gets for anyone who is a fan of the early 90s stuff out of Seattle.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Donnie darko is another great 80s style soundtrack. St Elmo's fire too
mrags Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 For musical scores, Backdraft might have the best one I can think of, Days of Thunder is second. yiu just sold me. Days of Thunder takes the cake. Any movie that uses Gimmie some Lovin by the Spencer Davis Group so well gets my vote. If also like to throw in the Movie Iron Eagle for that same exact reason.
Marv's Neighbor Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Not a big movie person but; RISKY BUSINESS & the BLUES BROTHERS come to mind.
Chef Jim Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Hans Zimmer Black Hawk Down Peter Gabriel The Last Temptation of Christ

Philly McButterpants Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I say this with a staunch record of heterosexuality (not that there's anything wrong with that). I regularly listen to the Grease soundtrack. i sing along in the car, and Greased Lightning is a regular on my my jogging mix.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Pretty much every one of Wes Anderson's movies has an awesome soundtrack...if that is your thing. I will say the best movie soundtrack ever, IMO, is the one from Reservoir Dogs.
Pete Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I don't know if a single person (myself included) has ever seen the movie, but the Singles soundtrack is about as good as it gets for anyone who is a fan of the early 90s stuff out of Seattle. greatest soundtrack along with Saturday night fever and September sessions imo
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Hans Zimmer Black Hawk Down Peter Gabriel The Last Temptation of Christ Hans Zimmer has some great ones. But one of his best-- and one that flies way under the radar-- is " the holiday." nice Christmas rom comedy, but the soundtrack is top notch.
birdog1960 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 "city of angles" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_Angels:_Music_from_the_Motion_Picture, "garden State", and "o brother where art thou" top my list.
