3rdnlng Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 There are certainly plenty of people on PPP who add thoughtful, challenging or otherwise cogent points and counter points. It's why I'm here. And every now and then even OC finds a nut. A broken clock is right twice a day. I'm saying even with all his bs he's right more than twice a day. Sometimes only three, but so what?
We Come In Peace Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I'm saying even with all his bs he's right more than twice a day. Sometimes only three, but so what? Swell. Doesn't make him right about this.
Nanker Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Typical American response. We're all set to fight the last war. The NK demons don't need to use missiles to hit their neighbors with nukes. It's a diversion.

truth on hold Posted April 13, 2013 Author Posted April 13, 2013 (edited) That's funny but ironic because the gangnum guy (south korean rapper Psy) has a history of virulent anti-US remarks....... In 2002, Psy walked onto the stage at a massive performance meant to protest the large U.S. military presence in South Korea. He wore an outlandish, glittered red costume and gold face paint. As the crowd cheered him on, Psy lifted a large model of a U.S. tank and, to cheers and applause, smashed it against the stage. Two years later, Psy joined several other performers in a concert, this one also protesting the United States and its military. He rapped a song titled “Dear American.”: Kill those —— Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives Kill those —— Yankees who ordered them to torture Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law, and fathers Kill them all slowly and painfully http://m.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/wp/2012/12/07/gangnam-nationalism-why-psys-anti-american-rap-shouldnt-surprise-you/ Edited April 13, 2013 by Joe_the_6_pack
meazza Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 This is 3-4 month old news and is relevant how exactly Mr O'Reilly?
Nanker Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Well, that didn't take long. Our new Secretary of State went to China and said we'll back off the advanced components of our anti-ballistic missile defense system in the region. Showing his diplomatic prowess and the legendary depth of foreign policy experience of the BO administration, he went running to Bejing with his panties in hand. All it took for China was to get their FatBoy Un to act like a maniac for about one month. 'Please, stop that crazy Un guy from blowing up Seoul and Japan, and we'll give you whatever you want.' Now they're going to have us lower out ABMs like BO bows and lowers himself to the Saudis.

OCinBuffalo Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 There are certainly plenty of people on PPP who add thoughtful, challenging or otherwise cogent.... Well how about you try to be cogent here: How is anything improved by the US leaving the area? Are you suggesting that things will be the same if we leave? How is anything improved by Obama, yet again, choosing the greater of two evils? What is the history of sonic booming, every day, a particular regime, and what psychological effect, proven, historically, did that approach have on negotiations? Or, does reminding a dictator that he is not omnipotent, every day, have a positive effect on life in general? JtDB won't answer the first one, and therefore, nobody is taking him seriously in this thread. Perhaps you can do better, take a shot at providing...cogent...answers to the above?

Kerry's being accurate, in a rational sense: since the ABM systems that Bush put forth were originally to shield against smaller states with limited capability, North Korea eschewing their nuclear and missile programs would considerably obviate the need for such systems. But you don't state it as a negotiating position.
4merper4mer Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 But you don't state it as a negotiating position. You do if you're representing a Los Gatos foreign policy.
Nanker Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 And therein lies the rub. The current powerazzi think they know what the fuce they're doin'. They don't. Plain and simple, they don't. Kerry's an oaf of the first degree, and BO is akin to Harry Potter in his first year at Hogwarts... without his invisibility cloak - or a reason to really think.
Just Jack Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 North Korea envoy to United Nations Command: Get out of South Korea UNITED NATIONS -- North Korea's U.N. envoy demanded the dissolution of the United Nations Command in South Korea on Friday, accusing the United States of using the force to prepare for war against the North and build an Asian version of NATO to realize President Barack Obama's pivot to Asia. ... Sin said U.S.-North Korea talks should include replacing the armistice agreement that ended the 1950-53 Korean War -- and he stressed that one of the "prerequisite requirements" for establishing "a peace mechanism" to replace the armistice is the dissolution of the U.S.-led U.N. Command. The ambassador said the talks can include "a world without nuclear weapons," which the United States has already proposed. But he warned that North Korea will not give up its nuclear "self-defense deterrent" unless the United States "fundamentally and irreversibly abandons its hostile policy and nuclear threat" toward the North and dissolves the U.N. Command, which oversees the armistice, and as long as there are nuclear weapons on the Korean peninsula.
