Kelly the Dog Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 (edited) Brown just posted that Fred Davis will be visiting the Bills Thursday. http://blogs.buffalo...bills-thursday/ Except I heard that conversation and posted it here last night. Tuesday. On Tuesday, he said he would be in Buffalo tomorrow morning. We'll see how long it will last on Bills.com Washington free agent TE Fred Davis already had dinner with the Bills brass over the weekend. Appearing on PFC radio, Davis confirmed he’ll be making a visit to One Bills Drive on Thursday. “I leave tomorrow morning for Buffalo,” Davis told Pro Football Central radio host Brian Harrington Wednesday. Davis said he also has a visit lined up with the Jets “in a couple of days.” The talented tight end is coming off of a ruptured Achilles tendon suffered last October, but said he’s already running. “I feel good right now,” Davis said. ”I’m only four and a half months out of my surgery and I’m already running and stuff so I know what I’m going to be able to do this year. I will be back to 100 percent.” He insists he’ll be full go by mid-June, which sounds very amibitious. Typically torn Achilles require 11-12 months of rehabilitation. Davis’ physical will likely be the determining factor in assessing just when he can be expected to get full medical clearance to play again. The tight end, who insisted he’s more than just a pass catching threat talked about his initial meeting with the Bills saying he dined with President & CEO Russ Brandon, GM Buddy Nix, head coach Doug Marrone and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. “It was a good vibe,” said Davis. “It was more positive than I thought. I talked to them and they’re a good group of guys. I respected what they were talking about and it interesting. It was a good showing.” In the next breath he did admit that the quarterback situation is a factor. “That’s the main part of any team. You need that quarterback and you need that leadership,” he said. ”I’m sure whatever they do they’re going to go in the draft and try to get someone or make something happen. That’s something you have to think about, but I’m sure they have a plan for that, which every team hopes to have. I hope it works out. That’s an interesting situation.” At the same time it sounds like Davis wants to look at all his options before making a decision, which means his visit with the Jets could go on as scheduled after his scheduled visit to Buffalo. “I just want to see where the best opportunity is to be able to win,” said Davis. ”I had a great conversation with the Bills. The head coach was really cool. The offensive coordinator was cool. The GM and the president they were all great guys. I had a good time. We had a lot of good conversation about football and life. I liked the conversation we had, but it’s a business so you’ve got to see all your options and then make a decision. You can’t just make a decision after seeing one choice.” Edited March 27, 2013 by Kelly the Dog
Nanker Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 "At this point, what difference does it make?" H C
Iraq Vet Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Who cares??????? We are being critical of a reporter that is paid by the Bills? who cares? and this post is a waste of server space. This team stinks and is not getting better... yet. When we win playoff games, we can waste time on minor slips by reporters.

Pick your poison Fred. Which team will have the better QB situation?? Not sure...but at least we have a running game.
John from Riverside Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 You do realize that he is the bills mouthpiece and is pretty much told to say everything he says?
Kelly the Dog Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 You do realize that he is the bills mouthpiece and is pretty much told to say everything he says? No, he is not told to say everything he says, otherwise he wouldn't say all kinds of things he says.

The Helmet of Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 can we all agree that chris brown is a Public Relations man, not a journalist or a reporter... by the very definition of his job, he is limited on what he can report and what he can write. any one of us would face the same restrictions were we in his position; if he steps over the line, he will surely be axed. no, he's not the brightest guy in the world, but he's bright enough and does a decent job given the limitations... we shouldn't have high expectations of him. the other news sources, such as that dumb buffalo radio station, that's another story; they deserve all the criticism they get...
John from Riverside Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Mark I guess some would not agree with that.....I certainly would
Kelly the Dog Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 (edited) Mark I guess some would not agree with that.....I certainly would It's far more correct, IMO, that he is kept out of the loop by the Bills brass than it is they tell him what to say. That has been repeatedly evidenced in the last couple years. Edited March 27, 2013 by Kelly the Dog
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Why is he dumb? Because he is the lead "journalist" for a pro football team and earns his living throwing softball questions at players and coaches whom he has maximum access and in conjunction essentially blogging about the bills. If that is dumb then I guess we are all smart for essentially doing what he does just less tactfully and without the corporate spin or the access to the players and games, or the compensation for writing about the bills. What a DUMMY!
Jamie Nails Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 He clarified in one of his subsequent blog posts. He's traveling to Buffalo today (Wed), with the team visit scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday). Tempo tonight me thinks?

What a DUMMY! He's dumb for saying an interview that happened Tuesday, happened Wednesday morning, and dumb for saying Davis is coming Thursday when he is coming today, especially when it was already well known he was scheduled to come Wednesday. It's possible, I suppose, that they changed the meeting. But the fact is, that on Tuesday, Fred Davis himself said I'm flying to Buffalo tomorrow morning (meaning Wednesday, today) He clarified in one of his subsequent blog posts. Davis, IIRC, said he is taking a physical today.

I agree that Brown seems to be less connected with the Bills, but he's still a PR guy for them. the other news sources, such as that dumb buffalo radio station, that's another story; they deserve all the criticism they get.. They deserve more. It's really sad comparing WGR to other sports stations.

This of course, after the Bills sign Fred Davis on SATURDAY, and Chris Brown gets fired on FRIDAY.

The Voice of Truth Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 You do realize that he is the bills mouthpiece and is pretty much told to say everything he says? Absolutely. It took me a few years to fully embrace this but I am convinced of it. He puts an optimistic spin on every story. The man is an advertiser who is part of ticket sales generation. He receives checks from the organization. Why would anyone think he is an honest reporter? He is a promoter.
eball Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Chris Brown, a/k/a scared lemur, is the PR shill for the Buffalo Bills and nothing more. I don't think he's told what to say, but I presume on occasion he has been told what he should not have said.
