BillsFanNC
If you go to Vegas and don't catch a Steel Panther show at the House Of Blues, you might be gay.
Gordio
I dont regret it that is for sure. I got to see Denver, Southern Utah and just the scenery in the southwest is stunning. Rental car was only $300 compared to the flight which was $500. I guess if you got the time to kill & want to see the country driving is the way to go but no way in hell I would ever drive to Vegas. After you added in gas it probably cost you more driving then it would flying. I go to Vegas once a year & have never paid more then $300 for a flight. You just got to look around & look early. Anyways, Vegas is awesome, my favorite place to go. I love it there.
Mark Vader
Just got back from Vegas! If any of you get the opportunity you guys need to do this. Vegas is awesome! I just got back home, it was a long drive of 2000 miles though! It was definetely worth it. Glad you had a great time Ice. That's a long trip, especially when you go through Nevada, it's nothing but desert. I enjoy Las Vegas, but I'm not a party person, so that aspect is lost on me. One thing I do not like is that all the cocktail waitresses all dress the same way now. They all used to dress up and go along with the theme of the hotels. Yeah they are still hot, but some of the fun has been taken away. So where did you stay? See any shows? Explore the entire strip? Go off the strip? Best place to gamble? Best place to eat? Details. eball
Vegas is all about everything being big, bold, and the best. For some it's just too much; they're either intimidated or overwhelmed. I freaking love it.
Gordio
If I never go to Las Vegas again I would be happy. Too many clueless, uneducated people attracted to the bright lights marveling at replicas of the Eiffel tower, fountains, pirate shows, and tigers all for the purpose of getting you to gamble. It's all fake. I guess you could look at it that way, or you could look at as it is socially acceptable there to be binge drinking at all hours of the day, gambling at all hours of the day & just a short cab ride outside the city limits to find legal prostituition. What more can a guy ask for?

What more can a guy ask for? Well there's that. Plus for 4 or 5 grand you and 3 buddy's can have dinner with Pete Rose. Too pricey? Then have Pete sign a baseball with the inscription "I cheated" for around $150. Point is prostitution is legal within the city limits.
billsfanmiami(oh)
First trip out to Vegas was last spring for a buddy's bachelor party. F'ing amazing. Can't wait to get back. Spent an afternoon at Wet Republic and our server was one of the ones that was supposedly parting with Prince Harry during that whole thing. She was actually pretty cool and took great care of us even though we were "nobody's". Although we did still drop a ton of coin. Also did bottle service at Surrender that evening and they took great care of us too. The whole weekend was a blur and I wasn't "right" for a few days after. Can't wait to do it again some time! Yeah I've always wanted to visit NOLA and once I saw the Bills were playing there this year I figured it would be a good time to go for it, but its gonna hurt not being able to make it to Vegas this year then. The way I look at it is at least NO would be a new experience

It sounds like there are going to be a ton of Bills fans there for that weekend and it could be pretty epic, especially if you haven't been there before. Just know that although it is a party Mecca, it just doesn't have the variety of options and literally non stop action that Vegas does (though close). I will say there is a lot more to "see and do" in Vegas. In NOLA it's pretty much French Quarter.

Good points, I imagine the bar hopping on Bourbon Street is a pretty epic experience in itself...and then once you factor in the hard drinking Buffalonians invading town I think it could be quite a Party down there that week
bbb
While I can understand and respect those who have no use for Vegas, I'll forever think that's just too bad because the city is a freaking blast. All day and all night...smoking, drinking, three-card poker, slot machines, bouncing breasts, white tigers eating gay entertainers, fan dancers, ginormous people standing in line for hours to challenge an all-you-can-eat buffet, rooms with no clocks in them, pirate fights, blue-painted men making music with nothing more than PVC and a giant box of Cap'n Crunch, lobsters the size of your suitcase, and a whole host of old entertainers performing live when you were SURE they were dead for years. Viva Las Vegas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLUl8xkKSTk Is there even a chance at a Fabio sighting? This is a great post!!
birdog1960
Agreed. When I was in Vegas covering CES last year, three of us rented a Mustang convertible and drove to the Grand Canyon from the Strip. It was a pretty awesome experience. Vegas itself is ok -- but since every conference seems to be there, it gets a bit old after awhile. The people watching is interesting though - you'll see people in formal wear walking next to "people of WalMart." riding the elevator down to an early morning meeting can be interesting. the beautiful women you saw the night before don't look so great after a night of work. in general, vegas isn't as attractive in the morning light, to me. to each his own. plenzmd1
). I will say there is a lot more to "see and do" in Vegas. In NOLA it's pretty much French Quarter. Not to be a prick, but I will be a prick. A weekend in New Orleans should consist of a quick stroll thru the Quarter at some point, and then the rest of the time , like 98%, should be spent in the rest of the neighborhoods of that great city. Kinda like saying outside of Times Square, not much to do in NYC. I will be in New Orleans for the game, and if picking between Vegas and NO, NO would win 100% of the time for me. But I love Vegas as well, usually there at least once a year. Edited March 27, 2013 by plenzmd1
Wayne Cubed
Living in Los Angeles for 6 years, my friends and I would make the occasional weekend trip to Vegas. I've stayed up and down the strip. Vegas, IMO, is only good for a couple days. Anything longer than 2 days can get boring and expensive.

I went down to Vegas 2 years ago for business. We only stayed 2 days & it was hard. Try being in meetings all day when all you could think about is boozing it up & hitting the blackjack table. In one of the meetings the one gentleman pointed to me & said "this guy isn't even listening, all he could think about is the Casino." One thing that surprised me was our coworkers that lived in Vegas that we had meetings with told us they never go down to the strip. Man, if I lived there I would be down on the strip every chance I got(part of the reason I don't live there). Luckily my boss who I went down there with is just as much of a boozing degenerate as me so we kind of saw eye to eye on the work part of the trip. Meathead
been to vegas many times, had some super memorable experiences, many awesome stories burned myself out on it. only way id go back is if i became rich somehow and could try out stuff i hadnt seen or done yet. otherwise its really just a money sink now. theres only so much 'gambling' (ie. giving them your money) that i could take. i used to go into casinos whenever i ran into them, now im lucky if i go once every five years and thats usually just for a buffet. even super cheap drinking (its not really free if you want them to come back) isnt enough to make that boring cow sing anymore for me
