Free-agent TE Fred Davis (Redskins), who is going to visit the Buffalo Bills Thursday, March 28, said he was impressed with head coach Doug Marrone after having dinner with him last week. "I think when you meet him, just talking to him, he seems like a player's coach, down to earth and real and that's something with a lot of coaches you don't get a chance to see," Davis said. "He was really cool and all the things he talked about you can tell he's a humble guy that doesn't make choices because of money. It's more about what he wants to do in life."

Would like to see him in Buffalo. At 80% he's still better than anyone we've had in the last 5 years

I'll be the first to say what everybody knows: Davis is just screaming about Shanahan in this quote.

Depends what you read - either that or no one knows Whaley works for the Bills

You may want to check your numbers one more time on that.

Davis averages 2.5 rec/game, 31.8 yds/game, .19 td/game

Chandler averages 2.48 rec/game, 29.3 yds/game, .36 td/game

Have you heard of Chris Cooley? Pro Bowl TE?

Starting to make a little more sense to me. Chris Brown's story today implied that he already took a physical. Frad said in that interview that he was coming to Buffalo on Wednesday to take a physical. They probably spent most of the day yesterday with him, and had all the doctors and trainers go through him as much as they could. The fact that he is meeting again with the Bills officials at the facility today can only be a decent sign. If he stays the night again, there is a good chance IMO that he signs, and he checked out pretty well.

IF they sign him, and it's still a big if, I'd imagine it would be for 3-4 years, and will sound like they paid him way too much. But ultimately will be an incentive laden deal based on playing time, and protection against both injury and muttonheadedness, in case he's back on the chronic.

Because he put up similar numbers as Chandler while playing second fiddle.

Not only did he put up similar numbers while being second fiddle he also did it while smoking a ton of pot :nana:

Seems like the obvious solution is to take Davis' numbers only as a starter, multiply them by 0.8, and call it a day.

Ha, well, the league does list it as a performance enhancer... :o

1.8, but yes. :nana:

Bottom line is it would be a high risk/high reward signing. There is a huge chance that with his disciplinary issues and injury history, the signing could blow up in the Bills faces. There is also a good chance, that if he could stay healthy and out of trouble, he could be a multiple Pro Bowl type of player-big "If" though.
