Dorkington Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 IMO he'll make a good 3rd or 4th WR, he's a decent returner, good WC guy, good special team player all around, and in a pinch can play QB. Jack of all, master of none. No reason to get rid of him unless we have clear upgrades in multiple positions, starting with WR.
dollars 2 donuts Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I have a feeling they'll bring Nelson back on the cheap. He's been on the market for a while now, and to my knowledge, hasn't garnered any interest. I hope so. Man, JH, I hope so.
BuffBill Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I think Brad Smith has been a waste since he has been here, but do we really need to cut him to add a WR since we only have 2 besides him on the roster? I think we need to dump him and sign 3 or 4 receivers, maybe 5 or 6 just to find a couple decent ones in camp. This team doesn't need Smith. As a QB he has completed both passes he has attempted since coming here-to the other team. With McKelvin resigned, we don't need him as a return man, and he runs straight ahead until he gets hit anyway. His best role is at WR, and probably #5 or #6 on the depth chart, and he makes too much for that. Nelson can't get open against starting corners his only worth was inside the 5....Brad Smith sorry as it is - a better wide receiver and he's not very good No he isn't. Wow? That's just crazy.

ganesh Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Did you say this last season? +1. Brad Smith is a wasted spot on the Roster and also costs ~3-4M this season. Just don't see what the value is.
Jim in Anchorage Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 How bout we try using him before we release him?
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I never got this guy. He was an great athelete and was a jack of all trades, master of none. I always felt the wildcat QB that could play wideout deal was some gimmick that made bills FO feel they were smarter than everyone else.
Doc Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 The Bills already paid Smith his $500K roster bonus. He's not going anywhere unless he proves he can't handle WR in training camp and pre-season.
