Harveyj001 Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 I don't care about the location as long as it has at least a retractable dome, make building it contingent on a Super Bowl, like they did in NY to bring the money to the area. The one thing is downtown would make tailgating more difficult, I have been to 7 stadiums around the country and OP is a unique experience that we need to keep!
Keukasmallies Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 What do the builders plan to use the proposed stadium for?
K D Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 How about right ON Niagara Falls? Have one side of the stadium be glass like in Dallas and out the windows you see the falls. We would get a Super Bowl for sure with something like that

K D Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Have you ever been there? Just where do you think you could put something like that Goat Isle?? The American side is a joke. We need some kind of development on that side
jimmy10 Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Dome doesn't equal loud. The boss hog bowl in Arlington is as quiet as a tomb, sound gets swallowed up, not amplified in that place. It's also the largest wine-and-cheese reception west of the Missisippi, so that has something to do with the lack of noise as well.

Retractable doom roofs are a waste of $$$$ A recent survey of NFL stadiums with retractable roofs reported that there roofs were closed 66% of the time for games. uncle flap Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Retractable doom roofs are a waste of $$$$ Sounds perfect for the Bills... and Buffalo... and New York State.
Snorom Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 (edited) I'm for a fabulous, retractable roof sports palace in Niagara Falls. Does my vote count? If were going to be a regional team then Niagara falls would be a good place I picture a horseshoe retractable roof type stadium with one endzone full glassed in facing the Falls. Could you imagine the top notch view you would have and the awe of TV audiences who see it. We could even think eventual Superbowl here. I was also enamored with the plan to extend the city of Buffalo and put a stadium at the harbor> that was an idea that could catapult a resurgence of Buffalo IMO How about right ON Niagara Falls? Have one side of the stadium be glass like in Dallas and out the windows you see the falls. We would get a Super Bowl for sure with something like that we're on the same page Edited March 17, 2013 by Snorom
Olaf Fub Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Lackawanna I was wondering why so many people on this site were convinced the team was moving to Sunny LA. Now it makes sense.
mitchmurraydowntown Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Just don't put it too close to big water or more fans will drown after all the losses.
Nanker Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Build it on a set of giant wheels. That way it can be moved from location to location across Western NY/Ontario.
PromoTheRobot Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Millstein owns the land south of the Casino. Plenty of space to build a stadium and whatever else. Close enough to the Rainbow bridge that Canadian fans could park or get off a bus in Canada and walk over the bridge, through customs, and to the stadium. Imagine a hotel and entertainment complex built with a stadium that featured an "NFL Experience" theme park? Imagine bowl games, Final Four, Frozen Four, an annual stadium game between the Leafs and Sabres. Forget what the Falls are now. There is huge potential there if they did things right. I would not mind a new stadium right next to the current one but you can't discount building in Niagara Falls. PTR
mead107 Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 (edited) If they build it in the falls area I am still going to want to park at hammers. Hope he plans on buses to bus us to the game. Edited March 17, 2013 by mead107
MarkyMannn Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Build it on a set of giant wheels. That way it can be moved from location to location across Western NY/Ontario. Or to Los Angeles So here is a thought / question. With the RWS upgrades, $135m, Erie county is putting up $41m or 30%. So if a new stadium is built, is it Niagara County that fronts a bundle of cash? Where to they get the money as that county is broke right now. The Indians are with-holding their payments to the county. As a Erie County taxpayer, let NC pay for it

mrags Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 (edited) What if a new owner builds his own stadium, on his own land? PTR or what if Jim Kelly along with the backing of Jacobs, Galisano, Pegula, Rich, Trump decide they want to buy a bunch of land anywhere they Damn well please because they are Billionaires and piss away a Billion dollars multiple times in their lifetimes. benderbender Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Everyone has been repeating: "dooomed!," so it better be a dome.
Helpmenow Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Bethlehem Steel? Isn't that a super fund site? One would think The cleanup costs would be massive.. But the land is free. Superfund site that has groundwater contamination. That would be something the nysdec would have to give clean closure
