26CornerBlitz Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 @ChrisBrownBills RT @adamschefter: Patriots signed former #Bills WR Donald Jones.
bills44 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 hopefully, he will continue to mistime his jumps.
26CornerBlitz Posted March 15, 2013 Author Posted March 15, 2013 @AlbertBreer The Patriots and ex-Bills WR Donald Jones have agreed to terms on a three-year deal.
BillsFanFromCincy2012 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 If he makes the team, he is going to be a baller under Brady. Predicting 750+ yards, 4 TD's. We don't have a number 2 receiver and there were tons out there to be had, including re-signing Jones. I feel for the new QB who gets to throw to Stevie Johnson and.....
JPS Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Wait till you see what a difference a QB makes in evaluating a WR (assuming he makes the team). He has a decent year, Belichick is a genius....yadda, yadda, yadda.
Erik Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 So the Pats add another receiver who hasn't made it healthy through a full season
Kelly the Dog Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Even though he has Brady throwing to him, hopefully he'll be as frustrating to the Pats and their fans as he was to the Bills and us. He's a decent #4 and maybe #5 WR for them. His blocking will help. For me, his downfall was picking up the ball while it was in the air and his timing on jumps and that kind of stuff. He also didn't seem to be a good route runner and was open usually when teams just ignored or forgot about him. It doesn't make the Pats a better team, although perhaps slightly.
BuffBill Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 @ChrisBrownBills RT @adamschefter: Patriots signed former #Bills WR Donald Jones. At least another former BIll will see the Playoffs, he wouldn't have seen them here.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 I doubt he makes the opening day roster. Out of the WRs we cut before this offseason, Nelson is the one who I think could do some major damage in the NFL as a slot receiver. Jones is at best a 4th WR.
eball Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 I liked DJ, but I fear that was the result of my general over-appreciation for players on the Bills roster. At least I hope so.
Meathead Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 unfortunately marcia makes anybody look way better than they really are even more unfortunately, we are going to have to endure the wailing and gnashing of teeth on this board bemoaning how we could let such a playmaker as jones go when said marcia works his said magic on said jones

Those are the type of players that Belicheat gets the most out of, like Sam Aiken.

He signed a three year contract so he likely makes the team, although it is far from a certainty. His blocking alone helps, especially when guys like Gronk, Hernandez and (now) Amendola get the ball in their hands in the open field. I imagine that alone is what intrigued the Patriots about him.
Maury Ballstein Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Jones will kill Buffalo soon......he looked much sharper last year IMO.....but understand why he was a casualty as he just can't shake the injuries. with a real qb he would have had a few more TD's.............congrats DJ, glad to see someone scooped him up.
Floridabillsfan1 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Let us see how he drops passes when they are thrown between the numbers . No offense to Fitz but .....
Best Player Available Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Just like the Bills receiver they signed last year, he has to make the roster. And, just like the Bills receiver the hoody signed last year. He won't. Cheap camp fodder is all this is.
