Rayzer32 Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 The cover that Nonpoint does of Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight" has to be listed IMO. They do a great heavy version without butchering the song. Of course I am more into the heavier style remakes of any song anyways. If you haven't heard it give it a listen, you might like it. Another good one is Type O' Negative's remake of Seals and Crofts "Summer Breeze". Hoping I will find some I haven't heard before from all the vast musical knowledge on TBD.
Fezmid Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 Major Tom (originally by David Bowie, remake by Space One, aka: Ayreon). CW

Rayzer32 Posted January 8, 2005 Author Posted January 8, 2005 Garth Brooks' remake of "Hard Luck Woman" 198068 Maybe I should have mentioned no country singers allowed in this thread. Jist kidding AD.
Rico Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 All Along The Watchtower by Jimi. Beat that if you can.
Alaska Darin Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 Maybe I should have mentioned no country singers allowed in this thread. Jist kidding AD. 198079 I just wanted to see if there'd be any comment. I was shocked at how good it actually was - not country at all.

Guffalo Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 I'm still waiting for a remake of "Muskrat Love" by the Carpenters, that was music! I've heard rumors that Boy George may try to remake it. Please let me know if anyone hears of any early bootlegs of this fine recording project.
stuckincincy Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 Bobby Darin's 1956 remake of Bertold Brecht's 1928 tune from "The Threepenny Opera", "Mackie Messer"... Mack the Knife.
Tux of Borg Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 Another good one is Type O' Negative's remake of Seals and Crofts "Summer Breeze". 198059 Type O Negative did a good remake of "Cinnamon Girl" as well. I love George Lynch's remake of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid". He did it with Vince Neil on vocals. Some of the best solo work I've ever heard.

How about Slayer's remake of Iron Butterfly's "Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida"? Or Therion covering Abba's "Summer Night City".

Rayzer32 Posted January 8, 2005 Author Posted January 8, 2005 Remake of "Purple Haze" by The CuRe 198130 Ever heard Chimaira do The Cure's "Fascination Street", pretty damn cool if you like heavy metal.
