Kirby Jackson Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Knowing what we know a few hours into free agency (Fitz gone, Levitre gone, Ellerbee, Vazquez and some others often mentioned gone)what does your ideal offseason look like at this point? I'd like to try to sign Fred Davis, Brandon Moore, Keenan Lewis and Brandon Gibson.Draft Jarvis Jones in the 1st, EJ Manuel in the 2nd and Khaseem Greene in the 3rd.
Best Player Available Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Gut the team for their first 0-16 season.
NoSaint Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Guys I think we talk to: Gibson Moore Devery henderson One of the hundred corners DJ Williams Roach A number of safeties
Buftex Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Ideal NFL offseason? Watching the Celtics hoist up #18, and the Sabres getting #1. Looks like another less than ideal off-season for me...
benderbender Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Watch one of our best lineman walk, GM get pranked, let Fitz go with nothing in return, and watch other FAs get snatched up
ny33 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Guys I think we talk to: Gibson Moore Devery henderson One of the hundred corners DJ Williams Roach A number of safeties What do you think about Justin Durant and Daryl Smith, both of whom have played multiple LB positions?
Mango Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I was hoping either resign Levitre if not go get 2 good free agents. Basictally keep morale high. Keep our own or upgrade 2 other positions. As of now I'd be happy with Henderson (although not super crazy about him) and a DB. I am sure we will pick up a DB before the draft
NoSaint Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 (edited) What do you think about Justin Durant and Daryl Smith, both of whom have played multiple LB positions? Smith was my fa favorite before pettine came in. Unsure now based on scheme. Durants another mid priced guy. I could see us signing 3-4 of these type players instead of Wallace and ellerbe. There's a TON of talent to be had still Edited March 12, 2013 by NoSaint
Kirby Jackson Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 I would rather be bad and start accumulating some talent than winning 6-8 games. I like the Qbs next year better than the guys this year (Manziel, Bridgewater, Murray, McCarron, Boyd) but we need someone to play the position this year. Ideally, I would like to acquire and extra 1st in 2014 and you may get Clowney and 1 of those guys. The Bills could be the worst team in the league this year.

Kirby Jackson Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 By losing a guard and fitz? Really? There were holes already (don't think that Fitz was the answer). The Bills have is a relatively difficult schedule. Without knowing who else will be on this team (or anyone other team) I think there is 5 wins or less on the schedule (KC, 1 Jets, 1 Fins, Carolina, at Jax)
26CornerBlitz Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Step 1. Fire Chan...Check Step 2. Cut Fitz.....Check Step 3. Bye Bye Buddy.....Has to happen right? Step 4. Identify and Draft the QB of the future.
NewEra Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Add some good free agents and draft rookies that are good. That's a good offseason in my book
ny33 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Don't blow money on contracts that will kill you down the road. Be smart and fill holes, but build through the draft
DanInUticaTampa Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Guys I think we talk to: Gibson Moore Devery henderson One of the hundred corners DJ Williams Roach A number of safeties Agreed. especially on DBs. Lots of cheap depth/camp fodder for that. Don't blow money on contracts that will kill you down the road. Be smart and fill holes, but build through the draft In order to build through the draft, we need to draft well. Our draftees don't contribute enough.
RuntheDamnBall Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) I think it could be interesting to see each poster's vision of plausible best-case and worst-case scenarios force this offseason, so I thought I'd start by sharing mine. By plausible, I mean things you think are within the realm of possibility. So, no on trading for Russell Wilson, but maybe on trading for Matt Flynn. Draft pick trades should be somewhat conservative and not Maddening. The other rule is that we're not factoring in catastrophic injuries, which are of course the true worst-case scenario. Mine: Best case - - Draft Geno Smith at #8 - find a starting WR in round 2. Sign Amendola to round out the WR corps. - sign Jason Campbell to a one year contract with a team option for a second year to compete for starter position - good value replacement at LG - Brandon Moore?(the real best case would have been keeping Levitre IMO) - Two quality LBs in free agency, and one in the first three rounds of the draft - sign Dennis Pitta at TE, or Fred Davis to a bargain contract - sign CB Sean smith , hurting the dolphins, and move Aaron Williams to safety - sign Beanie Wells as your short yardage back Worst case - - lose Levitre (check), replace from within or by drafting a guard at #8 OR CB at #8 (HT to Bill in NYC) - trading picks to get back into the first round to get Nassib because they are afraid he won't be there at #41. QBs - TJax, Nassib, McCown - AKA the JAG SQUAD! - hoping for a breakout season from Easley as plan A for #2 wideout - we end FA with Bradham and Moats as starting LBs - not addressing the problem at TE How about you guys and gals?
