Kelly the Dog Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I am seeing conflicting reports on the cap hit. $10M this year or is it $3M this year and $7M next? The Bills had their choice and chose the latter. It's 3m this year and 7m next, and saves 7m in cash this year.
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Joe Buscaglia @JoeBuscaglia League sources tell me #Bills offered Fitzpatrick a 4-year deal at a $3M base, with opportunity to earn additional $4M per yr in incentives. Sounds reasonable for backup money. I swear to god, the story broke between me leaving the house and me getting to my car...
xsoldier54 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I'm thinking one of the players is J. Russell. Exactly. That's the kind of guy that is skeered. Don't want anyone like that.
Kirby Jackson Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 The Bills had their choice and chose the latter. It's 3m this year and 7m next, and saves 7m in cash this year. Thanks
bigK14094 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I can't believe so many posters thought we were going to pay Fitz $10M dollars. Use logic people. He is getting almost all of that anyhow.
Bufcomments Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 ABout Damn time. Now I can get back to work with a smile on my face. Its a new day...finally. Have a great night
bananathumb Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Fitz sucked more money out of Buffalo for his old age than Chris Kelsay. First class con-man. Buddy Nix should be fired for the cap hell he put us in with that contract. What a dumb hick.

You don't have to be a Harvard graduate to realize he was NEVER going to make that "incentive" money lol... That's why he's gone...

Interesting, thanks for posting. Good offer for the Bills, and if Fitz thinks he can really start somewhere else, I see why he turned it down. Probably for the best all around.

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Open the window, you need a little air. San Fran ???.......lol As a backup, sure, why not? Est vet, smart guy, lots of experience. As a backup QB, who's a better option?
ReturnoftheBuffaloBeast23 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 *Stumbles in with bottle of Ciroc in hand* BEST DAY EVER! *Falls on face*
Just in Atlanta Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Travaris Jackson, who wasn't good enough to even suit up last season, is, as of now, our starter. We will have zero continuity at the QB position. Let's not do too many moonwalks. I have to think this Deadspin report had a major to do with this. Yes, we all know Fitz is a backup. But Buddy basically saying that for the world to hear is a different story. Him staying after that basically means he admits he's only a backup. I wish him the best.
KollegeStudnet Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I'm excited, but my excitement is followed by DOOOM! just kidding! good luck to Fitz and us going forward
BobbyC81 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 http://www.profootballcentral.com/2013/03/12/several-free-agents-avoiding-buffalo-after-qb-release/ Questionable post on their part without citing any names
BuffaloBillsMagic1 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 If he signs elswhere does it negate some of the cap hit???????????????????
BuffaninATL Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Funny, both Tim Hasselbeck & Bill Polian said on ESPN that Fitz & TJax are nothing more than backups.....we have our work cut out for us, no doubt - but it was the right thing to do. This move signals a new sheriff in town.....take your losses, admit your mistake, and move on.
Kelly the Dog Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 If he signs elswhere does it negate some of the cap hit??????????????????? Nope.
