theNose76 Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 Ed Reed is the 04 defensive player of the year - beat out Farrior 20 to 16 votes. Followed by Freeney (7), Peppers (3), Ray Lewis (1 - bs, had to be a Balitmore homer), and Donnie Edwards (1). I thought Farrior had a shot, but in the end I think the fact that Reed anchored the Balt secondary that was nearly impossible to pass against and made so many big plays on his own vaulted him ahead of Farrior, who had a similar impact on the Steelers. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylc=X3oD...ov=ap&type=lgns Vilma is not a surprise at all - besides Abraham he is probably the defensive MVP for the Jets. Had some big games against the Bills. His 21 votes were followed by Dunta Robinson of Houston (12) who should have been in the Pro Bowl, and fellow "U" players DJ Williams (7) and Sean Taylor (3). Not a bad defense they had down there at Miami. Oh Reed was there a few years ago as well. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylc=X3oD...ov=ap&type=lgns
Alaska Darin Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 How interesting. 197916[/snapback] Indubitably.
IDBillzFan Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 At first I thought Sean Taylor would get it, but then I realized he still needs to learn the ABCs of football.
