BRAWNDO Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Pro Football Weekly @ProFootballWkly The #Jets announce the signing of veteran QB David Garrard. Expand
mrags Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 If you think about how bad the Bills are and have been, they still don't come close to the ridiculousness of the Jets.
todzilla Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I always actually like Garrard. If he stayed healthy, I think he would have been good. Probably too late now for him.
vincec Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I would take DG over Fitz in a heart beat Come on, Dave Garrard is terrible. Frankly, I think that he is even a downgrade from Tebow.
Fixxxer Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I wonder what's going to happen to Tebow. He should move to HB/TE/FB if he wants to prolong his NFL carreer.
#34fan Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 If Garrard stays healthy, He could easily threaten sanchez. -Maybe even depose him like he's done a couple times in the past. This guy woulda been the perfect stopgap QB.
Captain Hindsight Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Good signing for the Jets. Hes a solid player when hes healthy
Woody Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Garrard is only one Sanchez butt fumble away from starting.
Jaysports36 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Come on, Dave Garrard is terrible. Frankly, I think that he is even a downgrade from Tebow. you say he is terrible, the stats say he is hands down better than fitz...its not ever all that close.
Malazan Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Garrard is only one Sanchez butt fumble away from starting. Sanchez has a much shorter rope than that. If Sanchez's play doesn't merit a 'good' comment then he gets yanked.
Kelly the Dog Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 you say he is terrible, the stats say he is hands down better than fitz...its not ever all that close. Stats do not tell the story at all but actually their stats are pretty even. Garrard has thrown a few more passes for more yards and less INTs. Fitz has less passes but more TDs and less sacks.
Alphadawg7 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 If you think about how bad the Bills are and have been, they still don't come close to the ridiculousness of the Jets. Actually I think its a good move by them. Very little available at QB in FA market right now, and he was probably the safest bet and is a capable starter and could challenge Sanchez for the starting gig, or at the very least, be a quality back up. I wouldnt have minded bringing him to camp here either. He isnt the end all be all solution, but he could have competed with TJ for either the back up spot or the short term starter while we groom a rookie.
NoSaint Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 you say he is terrible, the stats say he is hands down better than fitz...its not ever all that close. He's only 35 and 2 years removed from gameplay - obviously a real solution.
bobobonators Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 ESPN radio here in NY is saying that the Jets should go after Fitzpatrick if he's cut. Meanwhile, some people here would probably go as far as to say that Garrard is better than Fitz. The irony.
T master Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I wonder what's going to happen to Tebow. There going to trade him to the Bills ...
